school of Longspine Cardinalfish

I'm wanting a school of Longspine Cardinalfish (Zoramia leptacanthus) for my tank and was wanting to know how many I could buy and get away with

 

I have a 75g

with a purple tang, mystery wrasse and a blue mandarin goby

FWIW - I've been wanting a school of these as well. Last year, I ordered 8 or 9 of them from Blue Zoo Aquatics. Three of them were DOA, another three were gone within 24 hours. They looked quite thin when they arrived and then did not eat well during the next couple of days. I discussed this with Blue Zoo and they acknowledged that these fish are terrible shippers and that 50%+ loss during shipping was almost typical. They did credit me so that was cool, but none of the LFS here carry them and I'm hesitant to have more shipped. Would be interested to know your success rate with these guys.

 

Check out this person's site. He also had some recommendations regarding shipping and claims a 90% survival rate.

Usually cardinals dont school for long. Eventually they pair off and end up killing the odd man out

We got some of those in at tpa a month or so ago and like cml800 stated they do not transit well. Cool fish, but a little risky. We can order them in for you if you want to roll the dice tho.
