  1. The sump was an option offered with the kit from Cadlights. I bought the tank, stand, skimmer and sump as a package. The sump is 30" x 14". It doesn't leave much room in the stand for equipment.

I put a union valve right on top of the gate valve so if it gets gunk in it, i can reach my finger in there and clean it out in a snap.

The fuge light is a clip on thing. Its never on because I need to get some macro in there. That may be a while because I don't drive.

The vent fan I custom installed. It's a Noctua 120mm cooling fan for computers, but with a fancy cabinet mounting kit. Got that from Coolerguys.com.

They sell awesome custom cooling stuffs.

This is what I came up with to divert flow from my return pump to my media reactors.

The aqualifter on the left feeds rodi water to the kalk stirrer on the far left. The aqualifter on the right feeds straight rodi into the return section.

The skimmer is awesome. I have an almost sterile tank and it pulled out that much gunk in 2 days.

And finally this is my empty fuge with my Ph probe and 2 temp probes. My float switch is on the far right corner of the return section.

  2. How has the flame angel been with your coral?

    I hate that fish lol!

I bought this guy a year ago in my old tank and he brought Ich in that killed all my other fish except for my clowns and himself!

He gets bit by my clowns all the time when he chases them out of their "corner" apartment!

And he sure does nip at my corals, but only new ones when he's trying to figure out what they are.

I also see him eat his own pooh all the time... lol it makes me laugh... and cringe! (nutty)

  3. This is how my tank looks today. I have been acclimating the coral I received from Fantastic Frags for the past week. Ramping up the lights about 10% a day. All the acros have been completely dormant with No PE. I'm waiting to see how long they will take to start growing/coloring up since the lights are now back to their high settings. (sorry in advance for the bad photography. I blame my point and shoot! (scratch) )

The bleached coral on the right is an Aussie 3 color that didn't make it through shipping (sad)

This guy I got from SWF

This crab looks as if he's guilty of something.

  4. Amazingly clean setup. I had all my wires zipped tied' date=' tucked away, surge protectors mounted all nice and clean, until I decided to change my skimmer.... Then a week later my light fixture... Needless to say. Ow wires are everywhere again lol. Much respect for such a clean and well thought out setup![/quote']

    Thank you!!

I hate wires everywhere too, but they are only clean where you can see lol. everytime i pull my ato jugs out to change them a huge yarn ball of wires comes flying out! haha

I also need to label my outlets cause I always forget whats plugged into what!

  5. Very nice setup, you've put a lot of thought into it and that will pay off in the end! I'm quite the lurker both on here and RC and I've actually been following your build on there. I'm digging the loc-line return and the "custom" mount for your RKE. Keep up the good work (rock2)

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

    Thank you!

The mount was like 15 bucks from Panavise and works really well. The RKE buttons are hard to push, so I thought the mount might wobble and flex alot, but its pretty rigid and hasnt torn off my cabinet yet lol!

The locline hose I made was from side outlet nozzles I got as pieces from marine depot. About 30 bucks or so worth of parts, but I ended up getting extra stuff I didn't end up using so it could have been cheaper.

My only gripe is that its reeeeealllly hard to adjust the nozzles without messing some up on the other side while tweaking it... So after 2 hours of messing with it, I got it to look straight and flush to the water line, but now every 20 min or so I get a big vortex from one outlet and lots of bubbles! My fish love chasing them so I have left it that way for their enjoyment lol!

  6. No love for the leather? looks sleek man.Are you running any GFO in this tank and how do you' date='like the razor as far as light spread?[/quote']

Yes I installed 2 Avast reactors and one of their Kalk stirrers. DIY all the way!

    Finished products!

The kalk drips from a second ato container. So I have two aqualifters that run on my RKE with a ph alarm.

If PH is < 8.3 then ATO drips Kalk

If PH is > 8.3 then ATO drips RODI

this seems to work out pretty good except when im right at 8.3 and my float switch opens. then I get some back and forth clicking of the outlets till it closes the switch.

The Razor is AWESOME! I had mine running about 3 days after Marine Depot got their first batch and it has colored up all the sps I had that browned out under my NanoCube Led's. The spread is perfect for my 3' x 2' tank. It's like it was made for it. With the 2 channels I can simulate different colors. When I get more organized, I would like to post growth/color pics of all my new frags each month with the light. I really wish I had a dslr camera though.

  7. Looks nice! Great dimensions, and nice addition of herbie the lovedrain.

Now just match the livestock to the tank! Ditch the hydnophora and leathers.

actually I am planning to get rid of one of my Hydnophoras and some frogspawns and a few other things. This tank is too high flow for some of my corals and I've been collecting alot of acro frags. I just need to take some pics to show everyone.

  8. I suspended the light using arms made by Current usa. They were the only ones I could find that were long enough from front to back to be able to center the fixture dead center over the 36x24x20 tank.
