  1. I'll have some Live Rock if you got some....... and anything else you think would be good for a starter tank... Its my first Saltwater tank.... Thanks

I'll pm you with address. How old is the tank? and how much rock are you looking for? I'll give you some starburst polyps if you want them. They are pretty bright. I'll see what else I have around as far as test kits I'm not using, you may or may not need them.

  2. Here is an update for everybody. Seems like it worked better for everybody to take out the rock this weekend and get the livestock out. So this will happen Saturday the 19th. Rock is $3.00 a pound. I'm negotiable If somebody wants 20-50 lbs. Rock is fully cured and ready to go straight into another tank. Here is also what left for livestock. I'll write sale pending next to stuff that is spoken for. I won't call anything sold until its out of my place, in case somebody backs out.

    Tube anemone-Sale pending

    Diamond watchman- Sale pending

    Bengaii- Sale pending

Also have rhodactis mushroom frag- has 3 mushrooms on it- $10 and is available mushrooms have green tips

    And starburt frag -$5 bucks

  3. Looks like a nice tank. It has been posted on CL for months and months. Started at $2,000 or higher. I think he was once firm on the price, then reduced. I was thinking maybe the wood work is what people aren't liking about it. Very light stain. Would stick out like a sore thumb in a lot of people's homes. Notice how it almost matches his wood panels on the wall. Looks nice at his house but not mine. Make it a dark stained wood or black and it might sell. For $1650 I would want something that I would not have to completely dismantle and re-stain.

  4. I'll give it a week to find a buyer on the rock. Then I'm pulling the rock next saturday the 25th no matter what, so everybody can have what they need. If anybody you guys know that wants ten or twenty pounds at that time for a nano tank or something. I'll take like 3 bucks a pound. I'm negotiable.

I tore down a 120gal at my old office about 6 months ago. Had no trouble selling about 130 lbs.

  5. I wish you the best of luck. I definitely want the watchman and anemone. I could use about 10-20 more lbs of rock myself. What region is yours from?

And to answer the question of region. I have no idea. Just pulled some stuff from the LR tank at Hollywood aquarium. I think its varied from where its from. There are a couple really dense 15 lbs plus boulders and some really pourous rocks all mixed together.

  6. I don't really think that it really matters where you get the rock. I pulled my rock straight out of LR tank at Hollywood Aquarium in Lake Oswego and I noticed that there are a couple bristle worms around. I ask Ernie at Hollywood about them and he didnt say they were bad as long as they weren't taking over the tank. I then asked Travis at Upscales in Tualatin. He told me the same thing. As long as you don't over feed they should not be a problem. They eat left over food and help clean up dead waste.

Lots of stuff comes on live rock that seems pretty much dead. I'll post a pic. The colony of palys on the right side of the pic started from one polyp that started from the live rock. I could scrape them out of there but they are kinda cool to watch. Each polyp is about the size of a quarter and they act like venus fly traps completely enclosing food. I've even seen one eat a small bristle worm.

  7. Tube anemone will be fine with your fish as long as you keep it out of their direct swimming paths. I keep mine in the front left corner of the tank. That way it's easy to feed and my fish also have to be trying to get tangled up with it. I really don't worry about it.

No hits on the LR yet. I would like to get that out of the tank soon.

  8. Is the tube anemone peaceful?

That really depends how ignorant your fish are, and the color of tube anemone. I had a white tentatcled with a maroon center tube anemone and it killed a dragon goby (Hated the fish anyway, made a mess of the tank). I couldn't fault the anemone much because it was almost the same color as the substrate. I think the fish had a hard time noticing it at first. So I got rid of the white tube anemone. (booboo)

This one has not caused me any problems. Its also dark purple with a bright green center. I've had it about a year. I feed it regularly about twice a week with frozen brine shrimp. It also loves the sinking pellet food(huh). I have fed it those little frozen silver sides but likes the shrimp better. I still cannot honestly say that it wont kill any fish. My fish swim pretty close to it but they somehow know not to touch the thing.

  9. copperband

Ya' date=' I hate CL. You should have some Better luck here. Lots of dedicated aquarists here and all around good people too. Hopefully you stick around the site until you get your new system setup. Hopefully you get that rock sold soon I have some aptasia for that copperband to dine on....lol[/quote']

Had the copperband in a smaller tank to clean up some aptasia. This one gets the job done pretty well. I would suggest buying some aptasiaX for 15 bucks and killing off any large aptasia first. He didn't seem to go for large aptasia in that tank. He will take care of any smaller stragglers you might have missed and stop them from regrowing which was the problem I had when just using aptasiaX.

I'll definitely stick around the site and post pics when up and running again.

  10. Doug

Thanks for the tip on pnwmas. Good to hear that you still want the copperband. Lots of interest on that fish. I've heard they are hard to keep. But I've had no problems with this one. Awesome fish. CL was a joke trying to sell the LR and fish. Just a bunch of spam and jerky people sending offers of five dollars or wanting to trade me their x-box.

  11. Here is an update of photos

I was looking at the goby pic and I'm not sure if it's a diamond watchmanDOH!. Somebody check it out and let me know or confirm what it is. All pics were taken with an iphone so quality is better a little farther back. Tried to get an upclose of the tube anemone but it didn't turn out very good. Other pics look decent.

  12. Hello Everyone

I am very new to the site. Wish I would have found this site when I started in the hobby. Would have been awesome to get advice. I've had my 75 gallon up and running for about a year now and a half now. I've put a lot of work into it. I have to move closer to family which is about 10 states away. So all the liverock and livestock are for sale. I am keeping the tank because I like the hobby. There is about 70 lbs of LR that does have some soft corals attached. Nothing fancy some zoas/palys, couple mushrooms, and some starburst polyps. I'm not looking to get rich, $200 for all the rock and coral. Had it posted on C(nutty)-list and all I was getting was spammers and people demanding fish with my rock still sitting in the tank. I just want all the stuff to go to a good home.

I'd like to sell the livestock after the rock is out. Again not looking to get rich. $75 for all of the livestock. I'll list it all out below and try to post pics. I think I have it figured out.

    1- Algae Blenny

    1- Diamond watchman goby

    1- Bengal Cardinal

1- small goby, not sure what it is. Don't see it much

    1- Foxface

    1- Cooperband

1- rather large tube annemone. Purple tentacles, bright green center

1- decorator crab. Hasn't caused any problems and had him about a year.

bunch of hermits a few snails. two large electric blue hermits that have taken over turbo snail shells
