I was writting this to post into my introduction thread but it disappeared. So I hope it is ok to post this here.

I don't know how to get a bunch of quotes into one post plus now I can't find the thread so I am just going to address this to the group. After a reference was made to me in a pm about my thread I thought I should take a quick glance.

I really don't know what to say, in a way I feel like I am supposed to validate myself here. This is one of the main reasons that we don't like to discuss these things with outsiders. I am not going to discuss my personal life that is in question because to be frank it is none of your concern. I don't own a computer or digital camera because like I said we are a simple family, but I am starting to appreciate technology more now a days. The most advanced thing in our house is probably my tank or my phone.

Part of me is sympathetic to the responses expressed here because I witnessed first hand how my friends changed when all of this happened. But the other part of me finds this very discouraging. I don't expect anyone here to understand unless you have been here.

Isaac, I think you might have me confused with somebody else. I did not buy any corals today. I have been busy preparing for some personal matters and have not visited any stores. I have heard some good things about you though and hope to visit your shop one day.

Eric, I am sorry if you feel decieved, but I hope you understand my situation and why I don't talk about it. If you want I can come by tomorrow morning and reimburs you for your loss. I did not take any insult from your comment, I do understand why you would feel like that. We were grateful for the opportunity to meet you and for the corals that we received.

I appreciate the invites I have received for the meeting but I cannot attend due to previous engagements. I feel I should say I do not feel very welcome here so to be quite honest I am not sure this is the type of environment I wish to be around. I have noticed that there are far fewer members here than on some of the other sites I have been referred to and I can only assume that it is for reasons such as this.

I am sorry if I have caused any termoil within this club, I might stick around to see if this is the normal attitude here, but at this time I just don't feel this is the place for me.

We are rather modest people and don't much care for the attention. It has allowed us to spend a lot mre time with friends and family. We actually strive to melt in with everyone else so we don't stand out. But we know people unemployed with nicer tanks, we at least more expensive looking. I am sure it will get better as I get more comfortable.

I really don't like talking much about it, people get the wrong idea. Long story short my wife got a couple numbers right on the California Lotto a couple years back.

Wow! You're retired and you're taking care of your wifes grandmother! Kudos to you! Longevity must run in her family. We should all be so fortunate.

I certainly hope so, but I am only 30 so I hope to have a way to go before I find out. But I really hope so, my grandfather lived until he was 104, if I can just get close to that it would be amazing.

I don't know if this is an acceptable conversation topic here so I apologize now if it isn't. I have been playing the new Metroid Other M and got to wondering if there were other Metroid fans out there. I have been addicted to Metroid since the original, and although I have mixed feelings over Other M I do like it. The graphics are intense and the moves and stuff are great, I think the only downfall to this game is the storyline.

What is your favorite Metroid game, on what console, and why?

Moved here from Pasadena, actually Alhambra but I don't think many would know where that is but it borders Pasadena. Moved here to assist my mother in law in taking care of her mother as her health issues are starting to add up.

I know back home metal stands are nothing new, they are using a spray designed for truck bed liners to coat the metal.

This is a good deal, if I didn't just upgrade my lights I would take this.

In the last couple days I have been able to visit a couple stores out here and wanted to share my experiences. It started off bad, forgot my wallet at home and was a long way away when we realized it, I did have $50 in my pocket though so we knew it wouldn't be a dry run.

Upscales, nice selection of corals, decent selection of fish and equipment. Beautiful display. Didn't buy anything but I will be returning.

World of Wet Pets, not impressed, very small selection of corals and even smaller selection of fish. The guy kept acting like he was all knowing and I was stupid. Will not return.

Rose City, decent selection of fish and corals, odd selection of equipment. Not overly impressed with store, felt kinda unorganized. Again didn't buy anything but to be fair my wife was hungry and I was rushed. I will return.

Saltwater Fantasies, nice selection of fish, decent selection of coral and equipment. Was not impressed, didn't even get acknowledged while in store and felt ackward. Will not return.

Seahorse, has fish and coral, didn't notice equipment but they do have a water spicket outside which was unique. I don't know if anyone that was in there worked there, just looked like all customers and I was never approched. Will not return.

My wife was rather burned out after the last two stores and only wanted to stop at one more place so we decided to go by CA2OR's. Great guy, very funny, had a nice selection of zoanthids and they were everywhere. I still don't know if I saw them all. The LED test tank looks great. Those LED's really make the color pop, I plan on following that thread and I am now considering LED's. Dexter really does like that little tank and he loves that eel.

So he made me a "pack" and I can honestly say that I feel like I took advantage of him. I had to ask for a list of what all I got because I knew I wouldn't remember. For my $50 I got 10 ding dangs, 10 unknown from Australlia, 5 Mohawks, 10 radioactive dragon eyes, 10 devils eye, 5 eye of ra, 5 fruit loops, 5 devils armor, about 20 tubbs blues, 5 orangesomethingorothers, 6 lakers and one absolutely gorgeous blue hornet. On top of all of this, my wife made a comment about gas on the way out to the car and he gave us $10 back for gas money. CA2OR you saved the day. From my experiences I have to say it is members like this that make clubs and this hobby in general worth while. I know a few of you don't agree, maybe even most of you, but I don't meet people like this very often.

Overall we had a good time. Didn't make Westside Aquariums but I will be hopefully visiting more stores in the next week. I hope I don't piss anyone off. I don't know if I will make the meeting but I hope to see all of your tanks someday.

Thank God, I was thinking I might had just earned my first enemy here. I try to ignore negativity at all costs. It works well for us. I did get a camera today and although he really tried to teach me I still feel lost with it. I know I sound lame but I don't even own a computer, I live on my phone but cannot get good pictures with it, but Ca2or recommended some app that I can't recall for that and hooked me up with a photobucket account. Now I just gotta figure it all out.

But your apology just looks like another bashing but you used kind words and said sorry, and by continuing to bump it just continues the cycle. Sorry, that is just how I feel when I read it, seems contridicting. Maybe I just don't get it, but you say his name repeadidly which continues to draw the attention. I'm sorry but that apology fell on def ears here after reading it, I can only imagine how he feels if he even read it.

I met him today and can honestly say I left with a feeling that he might be the very most generous person I have met in this hobby yet. I did not pick up any inclinations of dishonesty or greed. In fact it was quite the opposite. The guy gave me at least a couple of hundred dollars worth for under $50.

I don't know enough here to say that I welcome changes, but based off what I read from others I would assume the changes are needed. But I can say I won't be paying for a membership here unless things like this are kept to a minimum. I will quote what another member here has said, sorry I don't recall who, but so far the threads I read here just remind me of a popularity contest. I hope I am mistaken.

I don't mean to start anything but I was looking at the grow out competitions and share the loves to see how these things work and it appears you started all of this, so I have to ask why are you leaving? Seems to me it would be a great loss to this club should you decide to depart from us.
