don't have pics for that, but it's a roughed-up old sunlight supply (i think) pendant. i'm actually helping a fellow reefer sell this stuff--but it's a white rectangular pendant from what i remember. sorry if that doesn't help much, i would direct any other questions to kdecker66@yahoo.com.

maybe he should rail against the effects of fossil fuel via global warming that are more clearly and significantly destroying reefs.
if he wants a more local cause, maybe he could take on the many golf courses along the beaches for the fertilizer run-off that is the primary cause of the turf algae invasions he speaks of.
or better yet maybe he should just stick to peddling leis and snorkels to tourists.

I'd love to add a surge device' date=' I just don't think the overflows could handle the bolus of water volume : ([/quote']
oh yeah, forgot about the overflow...
i wonder if one could draw from the sump and dump into the main tank, without overdraining the sump or overwhelming the overflow. probably wouldn't be a problem with a large sump..? dual 3-gal sd's on independent cycles should provide nice flow--and i might say look pretty sweet--without interupting the flow between the overflow and sump. maybe one could cut down on heat input by using airlifts instead of sub pumps to power them?
-
surge devices aren't always loud, depends on how they're constructed... i think one would be really appropriate for this setup.

(especially at that price) LEDs would be well worth trying on a temperate aquarium, at least on account of their low heat output
-
whoa...
whoa...

Or a seagrass bed like a refugium maybe?
...hell yeah
-
nooooo....
say it ain't so....
do use native rock! hook up with a diver, it's legal to collect (and awesome looking) when taken below a certain depth
same with our great looking local substrate (as seen in weast's old system)

you can find (and discuss) more stuff out about coldwater tanks at a new website: temperatereef.forumotion.com/

btw... just realized how dirty (tape, algae, etc.) the tank is, looks bad in pic but is in good shape

I have a pic available for anyone interested enough to send me an email address.
The removable divider simply squeezes into the center of the tank-- it is a perforated acrylic panel that slips into a couple clear knobs at the very top and bottom of the tank (they are barely visible). It is made by the manufacturer to fit this tank.
Again, the tank also comes with a Coralife compact flo light (includes 4 65W bulbs).
-
to answer some common email questions...
the tank comes with a custom divider (made by tank manufacturer), a bulkhead fitting at the top of one side of the tank, and the light fixture (Coralife 4x65W compact flo w/ fans).
the tank itself is in pretty good condition. it retails for way more than $200-- the lights alone retail for more than that-- it's a good deal, if I may say so!
call 541-912-2906 if you have any more questions or you would like to see it for yourself.

I'm moving... I've lowered prices on everything... whatever I can't sell at these awesome prices, I will put in storage; prices are firm.
I'm selling a Gen-X PCX-70HP pump ($50) that was in use for a bit under a year and a half. I have an Eheim Professional surge canister filter for $45 that was only in use for about 6 months. Everything is in good condition, but is offered as is, no returns. Cash only. Sorry, no shipping; pick-up only; I live in Eugene, Oregon.
PM me or call Ken at (541) 912-2906 for any inquiries or photos.
