  1. Hello all,

I unfortunately have to get out of the hobby for a few years. Being a student and having student loans come due makes hobbies pretty tight budget wise.

My tank is currently taken down, what I have left is all hardware.

SWC 160 Cone Skimmer - only used for about a month and a half

IceCap Prewired 48" Retro Kit & Ballast

    comes with Giesmann bulbs

1 Actinic+, and 3 Aquablue+. The bulbs have about 2 months of 6 - 8 hour daily use on them.

Currently the kit is wired into a tank hood.

The tank is a 55g acrylic flat back hex.

There is also a 15 gallon sump with pump underneath. The tank is plumbed with an overflow box in the back and return line.

The overflow is pvc plumbed and the return is tubing.

The tank/stand/hood are in decent shape. Tank will need a little tlc due to being emptied recently.

I would like to sell the lights to someone with the tank as taking apart the retro is a pain, but I am willing to practically give away the tank for someone who wants the tank with the lights.

Please someone let me know what you think.

Negotiable on the prices just need to get it out of my entry way.

    Thanks,

    Will

  2. Ya I haven't been doing much posting at reef central. Mostly just pnwmas and one other near where I go to school. I have heard about some of the weird mod locks though.

My bioload is really light right now as well. Hoping to get the water really cleaned out over the next month then maybe start adding some livestock as I get it all settled into the new skimmer.

  3. I just recently purchased a Salt Water Connection 160 Cone skimmer. I received it last night from UPS after waiting anxiously for it. It is all clean and running in my sump right now.

I was just curious if anyone else has much experience with this skimmer. Tonight it seems to be starting to pull some snog, but again its just getting started.

I took some pictures when I got home tonight, but can't find my card reader, so I will be getting them on tomorrow morning.

The skimmer itself seems to be of superb construction. It was solid all the way around and I am really excited to see how it goes.

Hope somebody else has some experience with this skimmer from our area.

  4. So in early June I bought a 55 gallon flat back hex tank for my apartment under the apparent delusion that my apartment complex would allow it. Well to find out I spoke with the owner and the floor plan will not support the 700-800 pounds of tank w/ supplies that I am anticipating. So here it is.

55 gallon flat back hex tank

(Custom Overflow box drilled in back w/1'1/2" inch pipe)

(All tubing required to go from the overflow outflow to the micron bag in a sump)

(Also drilled with a 3/4" return with locline included)

    400gph Return pump (Gen-X)

(All tubing to go from the return pump to both the protein skimmer and the return line)

    Full canopy (black)

    Matching Stand (black)

RPS-1000 Protein Skimmer brand new ($250 paid)

48" Coralife 260 Watt PC System w/ four moonlights

#40 Tahitian Moon Sand still in bag

Various chemicals to support a reef tank

Enough Salt to make 300 gallons of water

I have over 1400 invested in all of this stuff. If I could get 800-900 for the whole setup I would love to as this would vastly help with tuition. Please pm me as I would like to sell the setup together, but if I have to part out I need to sell the tank first. Please pm me as I am willing to take legitimate offers for the setup. It is all currently located in Pullman, Wa but I would be willing to bring it back or partway if necessary.

Thanks and I hope this can find a good home soon.

  5. Ok so here it is. I am leaving for almost a year on Sunday. If someone will come pick this light up or meet my by Friday afternoon I will let this light go for $300. If not I will have to sit on it for a year and hope to find a buyer or use for it next May. Hope someone is interested.

    Thanks,

  6. I was down at seahorse the other day and he said something about seeing some pictures from the Bob Fenner lecture online. I have looked all over and I can't seem to find them. If anyone knows where they are I would greatly appreciate some help finding them. Thanks in advance.
