  1. So here is situation.

I have a 10gal hex nano, softy reef tank i have been maintaining for about 6 years in a chiropractors office, I maintained his old freshwater tank before that for several years. He is an awesome guy. The tank is bare bones basic, hob filter, heater and a light. Its got a bunch of zoas, some shrooms, cabbage, cloves, a gbt, an ocelaris clown, and clown gobie and i think i lost the bangai cardinal when we moved his tank 2 weeks ago to new clinic. It had a mild cyano outbreak once 2 years ago when he removed the window shades due to direct sun light but has otherwise always thrived with 40-50% water changes weekly or biweekly and occational supplimenting of kent essentials. Due to a change in my husbands job we will be moving to Tennessee at the end of next month so I need to find someone to take over care. I barter chiropractic adjustments and occational herbal suppliments in exchange for cleaning it. All i do is scrape glass and drain and fill, its super quick and easy. Im hoping to find someone interested in taking over. What ive always done is supplied everything but hes willing to pay for filter cartridges, food, etc to maintain it if needed. It is enjoyed by all clients so I dont want to have to take it down. He will not pay service but you can work out a barter with him. With the price of chiropractic care you are definatly coming out ahead of the deal for 10-20 minutes of work. Please email me at amandas.products@yahoo.com to discuss and setup a time to meet there. The clinic is off of boones ferry road in lake grove area. I am screening potential people. I dont want someone who will do it once then walk away. This is long term.

  2. Need ASAP... I have a chiropractor with a nano tank ive been maintaining for almost 10 years in exchange for care, but his building is being demolished so he is moving to a new clinic in lake oswego off boons ferry rd. With the change im hoping to find him a new tank i can work with better to make it as self sufficient as possible. So im looking for a bigger (no 8 gal please) bio cube or a custome built AIO tank for his new office. Need it asap so i can move his tank into the new setup instead of moving it twice. Needs to have a stand, idc if its the older pc hood but it needs to have hood so i can upgrade the lighting. In exchange for tank you will get chiropractic care/adjustments for however many treatments total no less than your asking value.

Text 5036795183 or email me amandas.products@yahoo.com as i dont get very good internet service at home so cant check here often.

  8. MH

OK, so a couple of years ago now I had a 29 gallon tank and I was running a single ended 400 watt MH 20K with no other light except the simple t-8 I had on the sump/fuge. My tank was a pretty consistant 79-81* except during a major heat spell in the summer when it got over 100 for a couple days in a row. I had frozen 2 liters I rotated out of the freezer and that worked just fine. I think my temp got upto about 88* and yes I know that is high but I think since everything was already used to higher temps it wasn't to bad. I didn't loose a single thing and nothing realy looked affected either. When I get home I will send you an old pic I had of my tank. Total I had a 29 gal display and a 10 gal sump/fug about 3/4 of the way full of rock and water.

So it can be done and be done successfully. I had the tank running for about 2 years with halide and all levels of coral/clams and anemones....

Its all in how you do it.

    1. Go Slow

    2. Go Slow

  11. Tank Raised

You have to be careful how you read into things......

These are not bred in captivity, it says they are "tank raised"! What this means is they collect them from the wild when they are very young and raise them to a larger size before selling them. If they were actually bred in captivity then they would be advertised as "tank bred". Wording can be very decieving! Being tank bred they collect them very young and probably loose more of them than you want to know because young are harder to acclimate. The ones that do survive the acclimation process and are raised in captivity are going to be hardier once you get them because they have been in a tank for a longer period of time. That is the only difference. They are just used to the conditions of our tanks more so then a fish that was just recently caught would be........ Which makes them hardier from the hobbiest point of view.

Just my 2cents from what I have read......

If that link doesnt work, this is what it is:

Sustainable Aquatics™ Sustainable Island Tank Raised and fully acclimated to aquarium life juvenile Koran Angelfish

Tank Raised Angels, now how friggin cool is that, I knew they were doing Dwarf Flame's, but I had no clue they were doing full sized angels.(rock2)(rock2)(rock2)(rock2)

  12. Reef Corals

    That would be Scott....

As far as I know is or was a member and I am not sure but I think he may have even been a sponsor? He has hosted a meeting at his house quite some time ago I am sure. He mainly does e-bay sales and not many members at all were buying from him at the time so he sort of back out of the club I guess. He was to busy with his businesses to be able to participate from the way I took it. He is a reef farmer in Beaverton. Nice guy with some really nice corals he grows. Extremely knowlegable about sps! He will talk your ear off all day about em if you let him. I used to trade cleaning his tanks for coral frags.

  13. WOW

really bad pics do not do anything justice. I have since mounted the gorgonian in an area of higher flow up on the rocks. The pictures show some smudges where it looks like flesh is coming off. but this is not the case. there is no flesh rubbed off anywhere and there is now polyps up and down every square inch of it! I am getting from a friend in next day or so to feed my tank and gorgonian some live rotis......:DYummy

  14. Some Pictures

So they are not the best as I just had a cheap kodak that is about 15 years old but here we go.... You get the idea I hope.

I am doing an order again later this week if anyone wants to go in. Everything has been in my tanks for about 2 weeks and doin great!

  15. shipping

The more you buy, the more the shipping will be. But you can USPS and it takes about 2 days to get here. So for $16 its worth it. UPS shows its really high but if you e-mail her with your order she will let you know of the exact price and itll be less than what it shows online.
