Price to sell the waterbox set up?

My daughter will graduate this June with an oceanography degree, but the poor kid has never had her own reef tank!!  She has a few freshwater  nanos that she adores.  For her grad present, I’m thinking of a beginner reef set-up.

She will be a renter, so it needs to be smaller sized.  And I’m buying it, so hopefully $500-ish tops in price.   😉

I’m thinking of the 20 cube all-in-one design from Waterbox with an AI prime light.  Salt, sand, heater, refractometer and a few pumps.  I’m thinking I’ll hold off on a skimmer for now.  Also not sure she will be able to have an ro/di where ever she rents - might have to rely on toting RO from the grocery store....

Is this a decent plan?  Any other thoughts or other tanks/lighting I should consider?  I really like the all-in-ones for simplicity.....

I would appreciate some help.  I have been in the hobby for a long number of years, but I am a very firm follower of the KISS method (Keep It Simple, Stupid); in addition I am technologically challenged and not good with power tools.  

So...…. I am in need of new lighting for my very simple 40 breeder - mostly softies, zoas, RBTAs and a few lps.  I have NO interest in sps; they are just not my thing.  So I don't need super-fantastic lights by any means.  I would like some kind of LED fixture(s).  Preferably in the $200-$400 range total (including any potential mounting brackets that might be needed). 

My requirements are that it must be super simple to set up - both physically and technically.  I really don't want a complicated light that I have to program; I would prefer to plug it in and turn it on, as easy as that.  And I would really prefer simple & easy mounting brackets; I do not want any kind of hanging lights.

So what are your thoughts on simple to program & install LED units for my pretty basic 40 breeder mixed reef?

I am interested, but I may have to pass at this time.  You are pretty far away from me - I am an hour and a half north of Portland.  Plus, the earliest that I could get them would be next weekend.  But if you do not have any other takers by then, maybe I will decide to make the trip to get them......

Starting up again after a break of a few years.  Have my 40 breeder up and running with sand and just a few small rocks.  I am looking for enough liverock to fill it - 40-50+ pounds.  Preferably in Longview/Kelso/Vancouver areas.....

Took a break for a few years and coming back into the hobby... so I am not familiar with all the new products on the market.  I have a 40 breeder, softies & LPS only.  I am looking for a HOB skimmer - I currently have an AquaC Remora and looking for something that is hopefully better.

I am looking specifically for 2 things:

-- Something that will skim the surface

-- Bonus for a skimmer with an external pump

I am looking at the Reef Octopus Classic 1000 HOB.  I love the external pump.  And it has a surface skimmer.  Thoughts on this one, or suggestions for something different?

Thank  you - I will keep that in mind in case I cannot find a 30" unit, or if I decide to go with a smaller tank.  Curious - would the 6 bulb unit still operate with only 4 bulbs in it??

Still available.  Willing to part this out, but rock/sand must go first.

Approximately 30 pounds of liverock and 40 pounds of ocean direct sand.  A lot of red mushrooms scattered over several pieces of the liverock.  Also about 12 hermits and a ton of asterina startfish.  No hair algea, bubble algae or aiptasia.  The sand has only been in the tank for about 2 months.  I also have several large chunks of dry base rock to go with this.  Asking $75 for all of this.

Older CSL 24" 2x65 watt light. It has moonlights and a fan. The bulbs have about 4 months use on them. But..... one of the fixtures does NOT work. So it is now a 1x65 watt light! The moonlights and fan and one light fixture do work. Maybe you can fix it - maybe it is a starter or something... I don't know. You fix it or just use the one 65 watt bulb. $40.

I also have pompom xenia. Mounted pieces - at least 4-5 stalks if not more. $20.

Might consider trades for clean-up crew - snails/crabs or a pair of clownfish or colorful corals (but no hard corals).

I am in Cathlamet, WA. I do go to the Longview/Kelso area once or twice per week.

CPR bakpak skimmer with maxijet 1200 powerhead. $60

24" CSL power compact light with moonlights. It is 2X65 watts. However, something is wrong with one of the fixtures. It is not the bulb, as both bulbs fire on the good fixture. Maybe a starter? Maybe it could be fixed? The side that does work also powers the fan - so the fan works. The moonlights also work. So, I guess it is currently a 65 watt fixture. It does come with 2 bulbs that have maybe 6 months of use on them. $40.

I am in love with the personality of bicolor blennies, I just love how they hide in shells, but they are so drab in color. Are there any other blennies with personality but that have more color than the bicolor? I am thinking of a tailspot blenny. Do they behave like a bicolor? Any other suggestions?

I guess that I should have mentioned that I do NOT have a sump. And don't want one So, I need a hang-on skimmer. Also, I keep just soft corals with a few LPS thrown in. NO sps at all. So I don't need much in the way of a skimmer, but I would feel better with one. Mainly I want one because there is always an oily/cruddy surface to the water and I would really like to eliminate this.
