OK i now have the funds for a purchase. I am looking for 40g and up...the larger the better. I want a nice setup...preferably a contempory sytle stand. Long/shallow is preferred. I am not interested in tall hexes.
Let me know what you got.

Hi all!
I got this tuesday for my wifes desk at work and found out that the evaporation in this small of a system doesnt allow for 3 days off at a time and we both have 3 day weekends alot(we work from home too). So i want to get a closed top system like my Biocube for her instead.
So its up for sale. It has never been used..i put water in it to test everything and see how it looks. ITS PERFECT.
Here is a link to more info:

Do you have pics of the stand and top in light? How much would you want for it all? I am looking to get a nice home setup.

Have you checked craigslist?
dsoz
I have from time to time. I find that most the time people on CL got into FW or SW and never followed thru on it and the equipment is NASTY. I was hoping to find someone that took care of everything. Someone with a little "street cred" if you know what i mean =) (yes im a dork)
Im gonna peruse CL again tho...you never know =)

I agree. It looks like a picture of the TIP of a reef. Something is just missing....OH yeah the REEF itself =)
Its like having just the tip of the tree (just the top branches) growing out of the ground in your front yard and no attached trunk.
Not for me =)

Also i should add that i have an xbox 360 bundle im going to be putting up on Craigslist. I have almost $800 invested into it and it was brand new as of last december. It has box, instructions, and TONS of accessories.
I would be willing to trade that =)

Hi all =)
I just recently started a BioCube 8 in my cubicle at work and i'm LOVING it.
Here is a recent pic =)
The SW bug has bitten me again =) I took about a 2-3 year break since my last tank that i broke down during a move.
I am wanting to start a tank at home again so that my family can enjoy it as much as i am and then i can share corals back and forth too.
The problem is that i have spent a pretty penny already on this little 8 gallon and it will be a hard sell to the wife unless i can find a killer deal out there.
I am posting this message in hopes that there is someone out there wanting to get rid of a system that would work for us. I am looking for a minimum of 24 gallon up to about 55ish. I would prefer a cube system so that i can put it in my living room(i have limited space there). BUT if its a longer system i can put it in our master bedroom.
The more complete the system the more appealing to me =) The only requirement i have is that it be in GOOD shape and the price is right.
Thanks for reading (plotting)

wait till you have a $60 fish jump out of your tank thru a hole you had no idea even existed =) that one hurt.

Also consider the Yellow Rose Antenna Goby' date=' which can be obtained rather inexpensively, and/or the Flaming Prawn Goby, which is very expensive and harder to come by. Both are awesome looking fish![/quote']
holy moly! you wernt kidding about the spendy nature of the Flaming Prawn....what a gorgeous animal tho. I think the Yashia and the Yellow rose are both gorgeous too and much more reasonably priced =)
thanks for the suggestions.
My first order of business is to return my coral banded shrimp, brittle star, and my pencil urchin(hes great but he keeps torturing the other occupants...just plows them right out of the way). I dont want him aquascaping for me =)

Not to be a bummer but I have found both coral banded shrimp and brittle stars hunt and eat small fish. I had 2 clown gobys and a green chromis eaten before I figured this out.
Starr
Thats good to know....i will take them back. I was tempted to get a sexy shrimp anyway and the brittle is kinda big for this little tank.
Waves - I was there the first time last week..i love the place. You were closed the 2 days this wek i had to shop tho =)
Dsoz - well thanks to you and Cyenna =)

Thanks for all the welcomes! =)
I will go to Waves tomorrow after work. I really like thier setup...i went for the first time saturday.
I updated my photobucket with a couple new shots...my Starfish came out as soon as the lights went out. So i turned them back on to catch him in action =)

Hey great cube!! And welcome to the site!
How about a yasha haze goby for that badboy?
Im not familar with that type of goby...i will look it up. Goby's come up alot when i ask this question. =) They seem to have alot of variety and personality.
thanks for the suggestion!

edit:
wow those Yasha haze gobys are really COOL looking!
Any idea how easy they are to get?

Hi all! (clap)
I'm new to this site but ive been on Nano-reef.com for a little while and i found out that all the NW people hang out here. I'm just getting back into SW tanks after taking a break the last time i moved(about 2 years ago). I just a Bio Cube 8 for my cubicle at work. I always did FOWLR tanks before never full reef set ups. I had no idea how expensive coral is...so Ill probably do a few frags to start with down the road.
Currently i have the following in the tank:
12lbs of LR
6lbs of LS
5 tiny hermits
2 snails(cone shaped...i forget what they are called)
Feather duster
Coral Banded shrimp
Brittle star
Sea urchin(the LFS guy called it a pencil)
and my favorite an Emerald Crab
Im looking to get a small fish to add soon...i want something unique that will do well in a nano setup.
Any suggestions?
here is the phota album i created today:
