  1. And probably stay away from Cay's. If your forum name is what you have for a tank' date=' 26 gallon bow front and they sold you a Tang there reputation precedes them! Plus I'm almost certain they buy from a certain local wholesaler with a bad rap for selling sub par fish.[/quote']

I know I shouldn't have bought him but he is the smallest tang I have ever seen in any shop in Portland. I didn't tell him the size of my tank I just said I wanted him. I don't think he knew that I had down sized from my last big tank to this bow front. I plan soon to get something like a 55 or 33long to make a fowlr setup still in the planing stage at this time.

  2. Soak the greens with garlic

I think I was just in to much of a hurry I seen him eating from it this morning.

I did buy the stuff that has garlic in it already and I add garlic to all the other food I feed any of my fish.

  3. I just got a tang from cay's and he will only eat brine. I asked Shane what he feeds them and he said brine in his tanks because he never has them long enough to feed them anything else. When I bought him I also bought Ocean Nutrition green marine algae and holding clip. Any idea'a what I can do to get him to eat his greens?

Any help would be great Thanks

  4. I have this 6 month old Sulcata to find a new home for. I got him for my kids and they do not seem to have any interest in him. Also I just don't have the room for him even small they take up more room then I thought and I live in a small rental house.

His pen is 2 feet by 4 feet it has a 36" 10.0 uvb bulb mounted in it also a make shift heat lamp that will need to be replaced it was only a temporary unit till I came up with a better one and a heat emitter for night time.

They sell for around $200.00 alone at pet stores. I am asking $125.00 for him with his pen also I have the new wood to make legs for the pen if you want it..

  7. It seems everyone has their opinion when it comes to the best salt' date=' I don't. Just go on RC and you can spend hours reading on the miracle of each brand. I have been using IO and have been happy with it, but I am not married to it. Being new to the hobby in Portland, I am committed to no one yet and I just want to know where people shop for salt deals and whether there is one source that is consistently a better value. There was an "interesting" post back in September suggesting Waves was a good source. I need to buy about 400 Gal of salt right now and know I will buy many more buckets, so if anyone wants to send me in the right direction or is ready for a large order, let me know.[/quote']

I don't know if it's any good buy check out the price on a 150 box

  8. Would this work for what you guys want? I use one to power my rv when I am dry camping. I can run off it for up to 7 days running tv's dvd's ps2's lights at night a microwave and small power tools . I got it at Costco for $85 You can even find them from Horbor Freight tools for under $100. I bet this setup would power a whole tank for a day or so other then MH lighting. it would probly even run pc's or T5's and a small chiller.

  9. There was a pet shop in sandy at one time. They had a large tank mounted on top a chest type deep freeze with no lid kinda lame but it worked. He had foam board all a round it and a under gravel filter with power heads to keep the flow to the bottom glass to cool the tank down. the tank was cold when I seen it about 50 or so.
