    As has been mentioned, never dip SPS in Freshwater. They'll usually not survive.

     

    Depending on what you're dipping for, I'd recommend Coral Rx. If you wanted to take it a couple steps further, I'd recommend Coral Rx, then a Flatworm Exit bath and then a 60 minute Bath, using Interceptor. Those 3 steps are safe, for SPS and will rid your corals of any possible nuisance critters.

    ICH problem

    You'll never get rid of the Ich, unless you pull all fish out, and QT them, in hyposalinity, for at least 8 weeks. During this same time, keep your display tank fishless. At that point, you can return the fish to the display. Your display tank will now be completely Ich Free. To keep it this way, be careful to QT any additional fish, in the future.

     

    Garlic is worthless and actually is known to cause organ damage, in Marine species of fish.

     

    Cleaner Shrimp are worthless as they don't actually remove the parasite. They clean the dead skin, scabs and wounds, left by the parasite. To actually remove the parasite, a Cleaner Shrimp would have to dig into the fish skin, to get to the parasite.

     

    There are a lot of "myths" surrounding Marine Ich. It's a good idea to read up on it, to learn what really works, and what is just a myth.

    This will be our opportunity to shine and show that we could be one of if not the premier club, not just in the PNW but West Coast!!

    I know that PSAS (Puget Sound Aquarium Society) is collaborating, in this venture. You could contact the BOD and I'm sure we'd welcome you aboard and would love to have as many clubs involved, as possible.

     

    I know that, over here, in Spokane, our club, SRS is going to also be involved.

    Hi all!!

     

    It's been awhile since I've been here, since joining a few years ago, and only posting once before.

     

    I figured it was time to head on over here, and get to know more of you. Several of you, I know, from other forums.

     

    Anyway, I'm here to make a very exiting announcement.

     

    MAX, Marine Aquarium Expo.

     

    We've been working with them, on another forum, trying to get them to come to the Pacific Northwest. Well, after a lot of negotiations, begging, pleading, and convincing them that it's a grand idea, they've finally gave in...lol.

     

    SEAMAX will be held in Seattle, July 23 and 24th, 2011!!!

     

    I'll be attempting to get them over here, to make the announcement, but until then, here's a link to the thread and announcement.
