impur
Hey i've been trying to transfer some of my videos onto my pc. I've got a canon elura 85 that uses miniDV tapes. I've been having problems with the nVidia WDM video capture (universal) device, i get an error 10 (device cannot start). Any ideas? I've tried the latest driver, rolled back drivers, and tried the last 2 or 3 releases. I have not deleted all the drivers for the card and reinstalled the latest though, but plan to tonight. Just wondering how you transfer your videos to PC? What program do you use? Have you ever encountered the same error???
sknoch78
I use Pinnacle Studio. I have a Panasonic miniDV. It works great for file transfer and editing.

Nyles
i have a s-video decoder I just plug into to camcorder to the pc. I forget what its called but its made by pinnacle. Then I compress with nero 7 premium to divx (my dvd player is divx compliant).
Nyles
Fly guy is right though, if you have a dv that will plug in try that proggie, unless you are having plugin problems it will work. Let me know if you need to borrow my s-vid interface, its works fine. I use it for my old camera and for burning races from my PVR.

I can get the PC to recognize the cam when its on the card mode, but not when its on video mode.
fly guy
Im not positive, but i dont even think that driver is necessary with windows movie maker........on my panasonic, my camera is just set to play and WMMaker just picks it up...... impur
I tried it with the driver error and windows movie makers says there is no device connected.
fly guy
what mode do you have the camera on???? Try both pc mode and play mode, mine works when the camera is in play mode and playing......both the controls on the camera and on the WMM program can control the camera in the WMM window........ If that doesnt work for you we are past the point of my extensive (yeah right) knowledge.......
impur
Hmm i'll give it a try. I had it in network mode and play mode. But i never started playing the tape on the cam cuz the program wouldn't recognize a device.
