Ron Popeil
does anyone here have their calcium reactor effluent pour into their refugiums? if so any noticeable difference between refugium and just having it empty into your sump? andy
I drip kalk into my fuge and everything seems ok (pods, snails, macro) and kalkwasser is a lot nastier than reactor effluent.
Ron Popeil
i just stumbled across a few people who did it on RC to help with pH. with the added benefit, in theory, in increasingly plant growth.
Michael7979
I know Izzypop drips his into his sump but it goes thru some phosphate remover first. I remember him telling me that he tested his effluent and the phos. was really high.

mrgreenthumb
yea i tested my effluent for phosphate with the arm media and they were very high, then i picked up some of the knop koralith mediafrom you guys at waves, repeated the test and they were barely readable. So if you are running the knop, I wouldn't be to concerned about the phosphates, but i'm sure that if you did run it into your fuge it would help with buffering the ph. Ron Popeil
interesting. very good to know! my main concern in this thinking is to try to keep the pH of the main display higher by having my effluent drain into my refugium.
