pnkrcklives
I have some 400 watters if your interested. Dont look to have much run time on them. Dont really know what a fair price is. I will also look through my bulbs when I get home may have a 250 watter too.
kriz2fer
Please keep in mind that radiums will change color slightly over time. After 5 months I can notice a whiter light then before. If your looking for a great mh bulb just pull the trigger, you will love the radiums. I would stay away from the 150w. 250w or 400w would be the best pick since those are what made radiums so famous with that amazing color. reefriot
I have seen the 400 w radiums on a electronic ballast but I have pulse start PFO ballast. Never seen the HQI before and want to comapare to my pheonix 14k in my 150w.
wanareef
They're not Radiums, but I tried the 20k Ushio DE on a PFO Dual HQI ballast against the Phoenix 14k DE and to my (aging) eyes looked the same, didn't have a Par meter thou DOH! went with the 14k, less $$ Still have the ushio's 20k with only 24hrs of use on them
kriz2fer
The 400w radium is not an hqi bulb. The 250w and 150w are both hqi bulbs and are designed to run off an hqi ballasts. The 400w radium is not designed to run off an hqi ballast. The proper ballast for 400w is an eballast, the hqi ballast will serverly over drive the bulb and shorten the life. reefriot
as marine depots web page states the radium bulb works best off a eballast or pulse start. Hqi ballast work fine but produce a whiter color.
reefriot
I also just realized that they do not make a 250w hqi bulb so that's out
kriz2fer
I also just realized that they do not make a 250w hqi bulb so that's out Did you see my post? The radium 150w and 250w are BOTH HQI. The 400w is not. The 250w radium is manufactured in germany and the closet ballast we have in the USA that will run the bulb to spec is an m80.
