Mitchell
I got a melanurus wrasse last Friday and the first day he hid, but every day since he has been swimming around. He was eating and had no signs of illness all week. Last night he was swimming around, but today I cant find him. He is always up before the lights are on and he wasn't, he isn't swimming around when the lights are on now either. I put some food in the tank hoping that would get him out, but I still don't see him. Should I be worried? I looked all over in the tank and on the floor and he is no where. Nate
I found my Lubbocks behind my tank last week. He had been there a while :( Hopefully he is just hiding
madmike
I have a radiant wrasse that will stay in the sand for a week at a time. Each time I assume he is dead but then all of a sudden a week later he is swimming around like nothing happend! Give it some time.
Ryan
This sounds VERY familiar! I got a Melanurus Wrasse 2 Sundays ago. Just like yours, he hid the first day, and has been swimming around ever since, except at night when he would hide in the sand. He typically burrows into sand about 1 minute after lights out. Last night when I got home (when my lights were still on) he was no where to be found. I looked and looked, but couldn't find him. I even feared the worse I looked behind the take with a flash light. He is usually up by 8am or so, but not this morning. He didn't come out today until 11am or so. Very strange. I was relieved to see him! I'm sure yours will show its self soon! jgf86123
That's what wrasses do, just be patient, ours will sometimes hide for days on end, an theyve been in the tank for months now.
