Rick Posted August 3, 2009 Share Posted August 3, 2009 Probably an old timer for a server admin. We use to reset the servers once a day to help prevent crashes. The servers (and any other os) would slowly bog down which would slow things to a crawl or would crash the system. Todays Servers and OS should no longer be susceptible to these issues. Thinking back I recall on another forum that was using the vBulletin it would slow down to a crawl if it was left running for extended periods. It had a good bit more traffic than this one though. I for one make sure my Sys admins run backups starting at about midnight....it will slow the servers down but should not cause many timeouts (sometimes requests to the sql servers will time out).
