thumpersalley
I have 2 tanks, one got too hot & guess what...... So I cleaned out all of the "stuff" reaquascaped & am letting it cycle. The other tank has all of the coral & 4 fish. Im keeping it cool with ice bottles. No chillers available of course now. I spend alot of my time learning & educating myself on pretty much everything so this is not something I enjoy - making mistakes. Learning experience. (whistle) DOH! thumpersalley
I lost my pearly jawfish, a pj cardinal, a blenny & a red firefish. All cheap fish but I loved them anyways. Im hoping the coral will be ok in the other tank, we will see & thanks! Kim
Jay
Was that all your fish or did some make it? Bummer....
impur
Dang sorry to hear. Hope the rest pulls thru. Keep an eye on those temps!
thumpersalley
Since I have 2 tanks, one still has 4 fish in it & they are doing well. Keeping the temps at 78-82. I will have to restock the other tank, I think with a couple of pearly jawfish & a firefish since they are my favorite fish. When it cools down...... ClayTheSavageFraser
I hate losing fish! I hope you can get some fans on it! I don't know if I would have moved anything until it cooled off, I would definitely do some water changes! I did and it made everybody happy, after I lost 2 fish my most expensive ones!!!!! thumpersalley
I have a fan on it (the one that has all of the coral & fish in it) It seems to be maintaining a safe temp. The other one is still hot but not as bad & it only has lr in it for right now. I did water changes on both with some cold salt water. Ive lsot 4 fish, if I loose my corals, I will not be a happy girl...... (flame)
Rick
Just be careful not to cool it too fast if there is livestock in it. The shock could be worse than the heat.
