  1. Algae bloom

I am going home to test my water right now. Holly crap, I’m not in pdx but Seattle area and chloramine is about the same. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Algae bloom

Ok so I’m at a loss, 80g system 60 gallon display 20g sump bm curve skimmer, about a week ago I got a wicked green algae bloom, my tank is super cloudy and neon green. I’ve changed 40g in the last 3 days, I’ve changed my photo period, my spectrum, turned off my fug light, clean my filter socks daily. My nitrates are near zero, phosphates are low, everything else seems to be ok but yet here we are. Any ideas? I’ve added algae fix, Red Sea no3 control, and conditioner. I’m out of ideas. 3. Help

Thank you for this, I have him in qt, it’s a small tank but he is looking better, I’ll keep him in there for about a week or so just to make sure he is healthy and then return him to the main tank. Or do you think I should keep him in longer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. Help

I believe my powder brown has ick, he has white spots on his body and fins and spends a lot of time swimming in front of a power head, now the traditional remedy is a copper medication. Unfortunately for me is this is a full tank and I don’t have a quarantine, does any one have any experience with garlic treatments or any ideas on what else I could do. He is a beautiful fish and I don’t want to lose him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It doesn’t matter to me I just want my tank to thrive. And experience is all that’s needed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thank you the tank cycled for quite awhile until all the params came into spec. The live rock was from another tank that I nuked due to majano issues I soaked the rock in vinegar for two days then freshwater with daily changes for two weeks. I run the lights on a long ramp cycle peaking for an hour during the day at 80%white and 100% blues then ramping back down Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The tank is fairly new started the cycle in August and populated in October 1.023 salinity, ph 8.2, nitrates 0, water changes weekly, the pictures below are from the 2nd and third week of October right after the frag fest The next set of pictures was taken this morning, I did change out the led board with the sbreeflights mentioned previously in this thread. On the old board there were a dozen browned out LEDS. More Params coming this afternoon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So I am having issues in my tank with low coral growth and dual appearance, also green algae growth. I first lost an sps frag and my lps frags aren’t looking so hot. I have a cheap black box that has been running for about two years, I was thinking, should I swap out LEDS and the driver in that box? Or should I just get two prime hd lights and forget about it. My specs are in line however I don’t have a phosphate test so I am not sure what that is at. Any ideas? Suggestions? General comments? Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. Hey all

Hey everyone! I’ve been in the hobby since 2007 and I am finally branching out to meet people. I recently cycled a new tank, my old one was covered in majano. I was recently at the frag show and had a lot of fun! Here are some pictures of my new tank. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
