  1. I confess... I was stupid and bought a SeaClone 100 about a year ago. I should have read the reviews! This thing is worse than useless. In my defense I couldn't resist as Petco had a pricing error on their website. It was supposed to be $89.99 but was listed at $8.99 instead. I overpaid! It's time to replace it and get something that actually works! I realize that no matter what I get it will be better than what I have. However I want to do it right this time. This tank is a 51 gallon Corner Tank. The sump is homemade from a 10 gallon aquarium, divided into three chambers. There is not a lot of room in there for an in-sump skimmer. I would like to put together a bugger sump, but there is not a lot of room in the stand under the tank. The 10 Gallon barely fits. I'm looking at some of the Reef Octopus line... specifically the NWB-110 or the DNWB-110. Neither will really fit in my small sump. The NWB-110 will BARELY fit with some rearrainging. If I read the specs right the DNWB-110 can be setup standalong outside the sump. Any Suggestions? Comments?
  2. I use the same and it has worked flawlessly. I am a firm beleiver in simple solutions. The more complex the solution the more things that can go wrong. Electronics, switches, & pumps add needless complexity. Just use the e-shopps (or similar) floar valve and keep your Fresh Water suppy higher than your sump.

    Aptasia

Berghia nudibranchs will indeed solve the problem. However they ONLY eat Aptasia, so once the problem is solved... you nudibranch will starve to death. Not a good solution. Peppermint Shrimp are the ideal solution, because once the Aptasia are gone, they become part of your regular clean up crew. However there apparently are several different shrimp sold as Peppermint shrimp, and not all of them are Aptasia eaters. I got lucky and got the right ones. They had my aptasia infested tank clean in just a couple days.
