JeffP
One of my MH lights seems to be very green when compared to the nice bright white of the other. Is this a sign of the bulb starting to die? I picked the tank and setup used from a guy - so it likely could be in need of replacements. Any tips?
Michael7979
Do you know how old the bulbs are? I would say without more info. you should be changing bulbs every 8 months.
JeffP
He set the tank up last September, then took it down in December. I set the tank up a couple weeks ago and just started turning these on for a little bit each day - grand total of maybe 20 hours of my tmie. I'd take a picture, but my battery is dead. Michael7979
Well if the bulbs aren't that old it is possible that you have a bad bulb. Do you have a dual ballast or a single? If singles trade the sides that the bulbs are on and see if it fires up the same way on the different ballast.

Thanks! Could this be a problem with the power supply?
andy
Identical ballasts? I have two different types, and they cast different temps of light even with identical bulbs...

JeffP
OK i Did the bulb switch, and while still slightly green that one bulb is looking better. I guess I should invest in replacements earlier than anticipated. Oh well.
oldbrownies
both ballasts are 175s, but are they the same type of 175? electronic/magnetic/pulse start/probe start? are the bulbs the same brand and color tempurature?
JeffP
I've determined that I need to pick up a new set of bulbs - the color difference is enough to annoy me The ballasts are identical. The bulbs are the same temp, and I believe the same brand.
