soooo many times ill make a tiny equipment adjustment here or there. and like a week later i'll notice the side effect its having. just because i happened to be near the tank when it happening. basically gotta leave the tank untouched the whole month before you leave to make sure it just runs.

i often travel for 2-3 weeks+ at a time. best thing ive done so far is to set up a webcam so you can get visual confirmation everything looks ok. helps if you have a friendly neighbor as well for emergencies. i also never make any changes for like a month before hand especially with equipment.

i dont run one but i have a friend in hawaii than runs it constantly. he uses the active aqua chiller. never heard him have any issues with it. although i think he did have to replace it once 5 years or something.

yeah its really all up to the tsa dude. additionally when you leave hawaii there is a second agriculture specific security checkpoint you have to go through. ive seen them take fruits from people before so idk i could easily see them taking a fish lol

born and raised in hawaii. id be careful about what beach youre at trying to scoop up fish. people are not going to happy about it. you arent even really allowed to take sand from the beach. if you're making a big show of it, and clearly look like a tourist, i dont think people are going to be very happy. i wouldnt be.
