  1. Yes, corrosion can cause random issues like reboots, missing modules, abnormal operations, etc. But don't just check the cables. Corrosion inside any AquaBus port (even without any cable plugged in) can cause problems since all the ports are on a single bus.
  2. On the Fourth Day of Giving my reef club gave to @WeBeReefin ... Coral Frag Rack with Plug and Slide Locking System! Congratulations! Your prize is available at Cuttlefish & Corals. The next drawing is tomorrow at 5:00pm.
  3. In Fusion, you can go to the Diagnostics screen which may show some relevant info, but there's really no way to know why an Apex reboots unexpectedly.
  4. When an Apex reboots, (whether intentionally or due to a failure), each output on your EnergyBars will behave according to their Fallback setting. If Fallback is set to ON, then that device will continue to have power until the Apex completes rebooting. If the output is set to Fallback OFF, then that device will shut down and only power back up when the Apex is back online if the programming calls for it to be on. The best practice is to configure each output to behave appropriately during an outage. For example, if your heater has its own built-in thermostat, then setting that output to Fallback ON makes sense since the heater will turn itself on and off as needed based on temperature, but if your heater does not have any thermostat, then you'd want to set it to Fallback OFF so it doesn't accidentally overheat your tank when the Apex is offline. For full details on the Fallback setting, see this article: https://forum.neptunesystems.com/showthread.php?8510-All-About-FALLBACK

  10. Time's almost up. Less than one hour to go until this thread is locked. We currently have 72 valid entries. Hurry up if you want in on this event!!! Tomorrow at 5:00pm I'll announce the first day's winner and prize.
  11. Yes, a Family membership gives you two entries in the raffles. Follow the instructions in the 12 Days topic to sign up for membership and to enter the raffles.
  12. So far we have only 58 entries in our 12 Days of Giving raffles, so the odds of winning one of our 12 prizes are pretty good. If you haven't entered yet, be sure to visit this thread before the deadline:
  13. @Lifer Your subscription will expire on November 27, 2023, so you will need to renew in order to be eligible for these raffles. Renewal instructions here:
  14. You need to keep your pH and ORP probes (the blue and red ones) stored wet, otherwise they will be ruined. If you don't have a proper probe storage bottle, just use a plastic bag of water and wrap a rubberband around the probe to hold it in place.

  16. I included a dart board and shuffle board table in my construction plans along with the billiards room!
  17. I’m looking to sell a high-quality Drexel Heritage dining room table, chairs, and lighted display cabinet set. Selling full set for $1500, retail price is over $10,000. See my Craigslist post for full details: https://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/fuo/d/beaverton-drexel-heritage-dining-room/7686320309.html Just posting here to get more traction. 🙂
  18. I’m not using Home Assistant. I have a couple of billiards scoring apps on the iPad and can mirror it to the TV for tournaments. It’s particularly handy when playing snooker since the scoring is tough to keep track of:
  19. I spent the first half of 2023 doing a big construction project to add several new rooms onto my house, including a dedicated billiards room. My new 9 foot Diamond table was just installed a couple weeks ago, so now the room I envisioned has become a reality. I play BCA league 9-ball and 10-ball each week at Legends in Beaverton. Any pool sharks out there?
  20. The Holidays are nearly upon us, so it’s once again time to hold our Twelve Days of Giving raffles. We introduced this tradition in 2020 and again in 2021 to make up for our lack of in-person meetings, but it was such a big hit that we are doing it again this year in addition to our December holiday party. We will be giving away some great reefing prizes, one per day, starting on December 1st. Each day I will draw a random name at 5:00pm, announcing the winner of the daily prize. The prizes get bigger and better each day, until the final prize is given away on December 12th. Since our holiday party will be on December 10th, we will announce that day's winner at the party. The winner does not need to be present. Entry is free to all Supporting Members. If you are not yet a Supporting Member, now is a great time to sign up. Instructions here: Contest rules: One entry per Supporting Member. If you have a Family Membership, one entry counts for two. Your Supporting Membership must be valid through the end of the contest, on December 12, 2023. If you’re unsure of your membership expiration date, send me a PM and I can look it up for you. To enter, post a reply to this thread saying “I am a Supporting Member”. This will be your entry for all 12 drawings. All entries must be received by 11:59:59 pm on Thursday, November 30, 2023. This thread will be locked after the deadline. Winners will be announced on this thread: Good luck, everyone! And happy reefing.
