Sekura Growout - And the winners are.......
afautheree replied to softy's topic in Mr Bret and Softy's Sakura Growout
Thanks Adam and Bret for all you did to make this happen! It was a lot of fun! Congrats to PowderBlue.....definitely in a league of his own!!! What a great group to be part of! Thanks again everyone for all you do to support those of us who have tanks in our classrooms! -
Here's my final submission. We've had steady growth and we are up to 16 polyps. I tip my hat to Mr. 39 polpys! The only way I could have something proliferate like that would be if it was something bad! Way to go Powderblue! Way to set the bar high! This has been fun. Thanks so much to Softy and Mr. Bret for having this competition. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Powderblue sakura finale

Amazing growth! They all look happy and healthy! Great idea to glue the plug to another plug. That should make a very cool clump as they continue to grow.Well done! -
Wow! Great detective work Chris! Thanks so much! It's nice to know that I don't have a detrimental beast wandering around in my tank. This guy definitely has rolled rhinophores and the parapodial wings. I have no idea where it came from but I would guess it's from the Indo-Pacific making it the Elysia obtusa variety. Thanks again for taking interest and going the extra mile to help out! Cheers, Aubrey

Thanks for that word of caution. What kinds of "problems" should I be watching for if they were to get out of hand? Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Here are some more pics. ...some with back lighting. None of them great. Thanks for all the input! Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

It is a flatworm. No red spot that I can see. ..it's just orange with black insides. I do have a wrasse in the tank so maybe it will keep the pests in check. This is the first time I've seen one in the tank so I just want to make sure I don't have a bigger problem brewing. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Definitely. ..not deconstruction. ....dang autocorrect! Lol Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Took it under a scope in my lab with my phone. That's the easiest way to post. I'll try to get a better pic. Deconstruction a flat worn. Just don't know if it's a good guy or a bad guy. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

I found this guy crawling around on my clam this evening. I immediately extracted it from the tank. Is it a pest? ? If so, what follow up is needed in the tank to prevent bigger problems? Thanks in advance for all help! Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Anyone else catch the news with BRS?
afautheree replied to Higher Thinking's topic in General Discussion
While I'm always for saving funds when I can, words can't express the appreciation I have for every LFS that I've ever set foot in to gaze, dream, and expand my knowledge and experience! I never want to be excessively overcharged but supporting the guys and gals who get up every day, do water changes, deal with lost livestock, shrinking profits, unreasonable customers, and order supplies so I can have them right NOW if I'm in a crisis deserve to be supported first and foremost in my opinion. Business ownership is no piece of cake and they most likely serve us out of a love of all things reefy, and I for one never feel bad about supporting them anytime I can even if that means I have to pay a bit more. So here's my shout out to all the local stores! Thanks for being there whether we're looking, buying or in a CRISIS! Ya'll ROCK! -
Want To Buy Or Trade Coral For Tongs/Grabbers
afautheree replied to TaylorW's topic in Want to Buy / Trade
I use the Gopher tongs that you can get from Walmart or any pharmacy. They work great! Reach the bottom and don't even get my pinky wet! ;0) -

Zoa Growout Comp. .... interested?
afautheree replied to softy's topic in Grow Outs, Group Buys, and Competitions
I'd LOVE to join in! Any chance of shipping the frag? I'd be glad to pay for the shipping charge. If not, no worries...I'll watch from afar! -
Thanks! I thought it was a striking fish! I'm a sucker for tangs.....nothing better unless it's an angelfish. ...or a butterfly. ....or maybe a cool wrasse. ....and those anthias are really nice. ...;0)

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try! Hopefully with getting our nitrates under control we won't be encouraging its growth in the future!!
