Cool frag rack idea! Where did you get the magnets?
  4. Just curious who has it, and how I can get back on the list. Thanks - Jeremy

Fun idea, like the logo did you make that Vanz? Need to redo my build thread. My cube is 4x4x2 240 gallon.
  8. Thank you Jay for the years of service, so very appreciated. This board rocketed me into reefing. I thought I would start with a nano, in just over a year there are 500 gallons of water in the office. I have met allot of great people and learned so much. It is a shame that this happened but you have done an admirable job moving things forward working with people. I am confident that these problems are behind us now and looking forward to pressing on. Do you still keep a reef tank?
  9. That is a GREAT idea. You could even siphon from the tank, to the sump into a filter sock if the job is big to conserve saltwater...
  10. Well, keep in mind I am totally jaded after fighting this for a several months. Allot of people shoot for .05 or even .02. So that means that you are running 10x higher or even more than some shoot for. Because of recent experience, if it were me, I would acid bathe the rocks. Extreme I know and sure won't help your tank cycle, but it is probably what I would do. Others should chime in. No matter what you decide, at least you are going in with eyes wide open! Good luck!!
  11. Ah good learning, I did not even think of that. All my drain valves are accessible under the sump which is not pretty nor easy to get to but still easier I suppose then by the wall. Thanks for sharing the good and the bad, we all learn from each other's experience.
  12. Awesome, so restricting the intake size increases the air flow or vice versa?
  13. Looking forward to checking it out in person! Have some frags for your rebuild!
  14. Looking good though. You are having too much fun it looks like I know you know this... but just in case. Gluing in the standpipes is optional. If your sump can take the overflow box draining without overflowing. Just a thought... None of mine are cemented in. The old 'power out test' is a good one. Pull the stand pipes, cut the return pump, see if your sump is too close to overflowing.
  15. Looks good to me. One thing to keep in mind, the greater the height difference between your siphon and your backup, the more room you have for adjustment on the full siphon. Looks like plenty of room to me. That emergency should stay dry I suppose to be a by the book Herbie. Gate valve below right for fine tuning? Looks slick!
  16. Not perfect, but surely handy! I enjoyed poking around in their tables and for the ones I checked they seemed to match books / other reefer buddies... http://successfulreefkeeping.com/learn/about-corals/what-your-coral-needs/
  17. I am in if someone starts one, will sign up.
  18. +1 to Bill. I run a few heaters in the skimmer chamber of the sump. The level there is fixed, they will never run dry there unless the sump leaks. At first I had them in the pump chamber, not such a good place! Good luck...
  19. Whatever it takes to keep the little ones away from the sump and focused on the tank Glad that it might be helpful. Take pics if you build some. I am going to try them on the bigger frag tank, should do the job there too and I store a bunch of distracting items under it.
  20. Cool to see more DIY with the jebao skimmer pumps, excellent! The DC12000 BlueZ setup for me, a monster. Too bad the thread is gone!
