  1. Does anyone know what this is? It's about 3/4" long.
  2. I can stop by while I'm out servicing tanks. Thanks!
  3. Hey Bert. I'd love a 20$ frag of the Fiji yellow leather. I can pick it up at the meeting on Sunday.
  4. Not sure if many of you keep freshwater tanks, but I'm looking for some Java moss. Does anyone close to Vancouver have some they want to get rid of?
  5. Thanks guys. He definitely wasn't underfed. These fish will actually keep eating, whether they need it or not, if food is available. If they overeat too much, the food decomposes in their stomach faster than they can digest it. This results in a gas bubble that often kills them. I knew the shrimp was a gonner eventually, just thought he would wait a while. They don't deal with stress all that well. The are actually surprisingly delicate little fish considering they look like the kraken.
  6. I found grumbledore dead today. The little dummy tried to eat a fire shrimp that was bigger than him a few days ago. He threw the shrimp up yesterday, but I think it was too much stress for him. Bummer.
  7. It's all up and running! Now I just need to figure out what to use for a light. I was thinking a 6 bulb ATI power module, I'm afraid that's going to be overkill though.
  8. Getting closer! Just a little sanding and paint to get the stand finished.
  9. Thanks! The tidepool is going to get resurrected one of these days.
  10. I got the stand started yesterday. I still need to get some trim on it and clean it up before painting, but I'm getting there. It's in two pieces so I can just pull the front section off to get to the sump.
  11. I got it running today. I think I'm going to pull the drain out and make it bigger though. I have to have the pump cranked down to barely a trickle or else it's going to overflow.
  12. Thanks for asking! I always forget how terrible I am at updating threads. He's doing great though. He's been eating frozen consistently for about a month now. His name is grumbledore, and he's the most handsome guy in the house.
  13. Got it drilled, painted, and glued in the "bulkheads" over the past few days. I ended up using some random plumbing parts I found at home depot and modifying them to work for what I need. I'll see if it holds water tomorrow. Then I'll glue the rock wall in place.
  14. That's actually probably what I'll end up with. I was kind of thinking of just using an aqua lifter pump anyway.
  15. Oooo! That's a good idea! I think the gem tang at cuttlefish would look really good in this. It'll probably be zoas and sexy shrimp.
  16. I'm not totally sure yet. Maybe 1/4" - 1/2" max.
  17. I don't think they make bulkheads tiny enough for what I need. Anyone have any good ideas?
  18. I'm a little bored tonight after work, so this happened. The vase holds around 1/2 gallon. I'm seriously considering drilling a few holes in this and putting a tiny sump on it. I don't want to have to worry about trying to hide a pump or heater in the display. The plan is to silicone the rock to the back wall. That way, I can just pick the while thing up and dump it out for a water change. That's all for now.
  19. Does anyone have a canister filter they want to sell for cheap? Doesn't need to be big or fancy, as long as it works.
  20. I have a few things that I need to get rid of since I'm too lazy to test and dose my tank. Kent tech m- 64oz bottle, basically full. Reef fusion alk- 34oz bottle, just over half full. Reef fusion ca- 17oz little, maybe 1/4 full. 4" cloth filter sock Take all or one. I don't care. I'm in Vancouver.
  21. My turkey looked cold, so I made it a bacon blanket. Happy holidays everyone!
  22. So far so good! Took his first meal of frozen food off the tweezers last week.
  23. That sucks! Can you get your money back and still keep it? We can fix it, then you get a free rock.
  24. I have some blue cloves and kenya tree when you're ready for the good stuff. Free of charge for you.
  25. I told my wife we couldn't name this guy until he was eating eating frozen food from tweezers. Tonight, he ate non live food for the first time. Were going to call him grumbledore.
