The foxface is probably 6 inches long. I think that he is fully grown.

Zoanthids that were covered in algae are waking up and should be just fine. Please let me know if you have any other questions

You are right. I had forgotten. It is the Reef Octopus DNW 200. It is a recirculating skimmer, outside the sump, beside the tank.

It never got that developed, so It doesn't have the pronounced wrinkles, but I think that it is basically the same. The polyps are not extended at the moment. I have two varieties though. The short polyp one is white-ish. It hasn't fully extended itself in a while. The longer polyp one is more like a green yellow in the polyps. Hope that helps.

All the fish seem healthy, but whoever ends up with the live rock will have to contend with the algae. I hope that it is worth it for the price, but I don't want it to be a surprise.

I have tended my 90 gal reef tank for just short of 3 years, but it is time to move on. It has been fun. I will list the prices of the big pieces, but I am looking to get rid of everything. So I lost power for about 4 hours last night. I ended up running an extension cord from the running car (which has a 120v plug in it) to a Koralia powerhead in the tank. I figured that moving the water around, and disturbing the surface of the water somewhat was going to be better than nothing. The car didn't put out enough amps to power the recirculating pump. The tank is 90gal so I wasn't too worried about the temperature falling too far, too fast. I am wondering, what would you have done in this case? I probably would have gone to something more drastic if I thought that the power outage was going to last longer, but I really don't know what that would be. Things seem to be back to normal and healthy this morning. Crisis averted.

One of my two Clarkii clownfish has adopted the new anemone. I thought that the two were a pair, but she doesn't seem to want to share. My hope is that she will help the anemone, but she may be a little hard on it. Ideally I think that the anemone would be larger in comparison to her length. Do clownfish actually feed their host anemones?

I will try to get a pic tonight. We'll see how much it moved during the day. The foot looked good to me, but I don't really know what I would be looking for. It appeared to be sticky.

I have 6 - 54watt t-5s on the 90 gal tank. Am I right in categorizing that as "Moderate" for a tank this size?

Thanks Garrett, I didn't expect to get much in the way of encouraging feedback. It was sticky when I put it in the tank last night, and it stayed in the same place all night. It seemed happy enough. I intend to try to feed it in a couple of days, and then do that every other day or so.

At this point, i'd rather not disclose the store. In general I like shopping at this place, but in this one case, I do feel like the facts weren't all there. I go to this store enough to know that the anemone was just recently arrived, and it looked to be in good shape.

Well I bought an anemone on impulse (which I realize is never a good idea), but I thought that I understood the care requirements. Looking back, I now feel a little mislead by the shop owner as well. I think that I was thinking of condy anemones or something. Anyway, I now have a Sebae anemone that I intend to keep alive. The good news is that the animal looks pretty good. It is a dirty color (which I have heard is good), and it has opened up pretty much immediately after being put in the tank. The tank is 90 gals and has 6 t-5s above it. It is pretty lightly populated with fish. I am using carbon, and I will begin using purigen this week. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. SHould I be adding Iodine(ide)? Thank you

Should I try to clear the membrane from the coral?

I got a plate coral last Tuesday and it looked like it was doing well for the first week or so, but now i'm not sure. It is a light green coral that is maybe 2.5" across with long tentacles. For the last few days most of the tentacles have been under a layer of what looks like translucent slime, or a membrane of some kind. I don't have a picture at the moment, but I may be able to provide one if it would help. I originally thought that the behavior was normal, but it has recently occurred to me that it may be an infection, or some other bad situation. Thoughts?

Good points everyone. I will try to remain calm and give him a little time. I don't know if I am quite able to provide the pods that he needs with my rock. The tank is about 6 months old it has about 125 lbs of Marcos dry rock, but I seeded the tank with borrowed live sand and reefs2go pods. How do you know if you have a thriving pod population?

I just got a Meiacanthus atrodorsalis on Tuesday. He is probably about 2 inches long if you include the streamers on his tail. I am concerned that he will not find enough bugs in my tank to survive on, and so far he has ignored all of my offerings. I have been trying flakes and shredded calamari, krill, scallops, and spinach. I add selcon most times, and I tried adding some garlic for the first time this morning. I have read about other people watching their blennies starve to death, and I really want to avoid it. Any ideas?
