  1. Great to see this event return and have a chance to catch up with Sid and everything that has been happening at Hatfield. I think I may even see myself in that pic from a prior years event!
  2. If only I would have rang the bell when I was out there Sunday! Will need to take the tank down pretty soon to move so probably not the time to try anything new even though I think I found the cause of the latest crash (another rusted return pump!!!!).
  3. Well it looked pretty quiet and didn’t want to interrupt your recovery 😃. Seriously bummed I missed a chance to see everyone😒. I don’t know that I even confused the date but somehow got it in my mind it was Sunday. Yesterday was nuts anyway trying to trouble shoot a dead furnace remotely.
  4. Ok - so I was wondering why it was so quiet at Kim’s at noon today…. Probably because the meeting was YESTERDAY! Yes, I am an idiot. Sigh. Hope you all had a great time!
  5. This is a good tip. Do you have a good source for the separate anion and cation resins?
  6. Very nice! Those are some great STL freebies! Congrats all.
  7. Just catching up and will plan to be there (sorry for the late notice). Will be good to see you all!!!
  8. Hi Bret - very generous offer! Seems like local shops have been pretty good about working with customers on things like this so I would at least ask them if you know they have a saw... Definitely could see issues with trying to loan one out.
  9. Looking great Andy! I will need to go back through here and get caught up on the trace element discussion - sounds really promising. Would be awesome if we could get to the point where regular Mass Spec analysis was something that was inexpensive/reliable enough to just have as an ongoing part of one's maintenance routine. Not only would that help with the trace element supplementation but the much earlier warning on heavy metals would be awesome (don't ask).
  10. Interesting stat and speaks to the benefit of being a member given the access to special events such as this!
  11. Thanks all for calling out the issues here. I am sure this will always be a highly debated albeit niche issue within the larger conversations around non-native and protected species. While there clearly are significant ecological problems related to release of non-indigenous species (see Florida for examples), broad brush and poorly thought out solutions often cause more collateral damage than help - which appears to be the case here. As noted above, it is definitely important to stay informed and vocal on these topics when opportunity presents. It would be nice if there was more focus on supporting sustainable alternatives that have started to appear vs. taking the path of blanket prohibitions... especially since those have generally proven ineffective long term (see Rudy's example above). Everyone in the hobby has a vested interest in making it ecologically sound and sustainable (even if they aren't aware).
  12. You can always use more flow! These look like really nice units - congrats! @VanillaMoon
  13. Another highly useful item - congrats @ocboat! Also a shout out to @CuttleFishandCoral for helping to acquire all of these prizes for us!
  14. Nice! Can always use one of those... congrats @Reef Chard!

  16. Another highly useful item! Congrats @Yourmedic
  17. Sweet - congrats @psychofireman! I keep meaning to pick one of these up - they make such a difference for phone pics.
  18. Always a good item to have on hand! I'm sure you can probably find something to test it out on at CnC while you are there! Congrats @Blexey
  19. Sad to see this come down but super nice tank and stand combo for some lucky person looking to upgrade! GLWS!
  20. I am a supporting member. Thanks for all the work on this @SuncrestReef!
  21. This is going to be awesome - surround reef! You should post some panning videos from the couch when you get it all together.
