  1. I believe since the male is not a blonde and the other one has the exact same coloration, it is a female Naso (non-blonde). (laugh)
  2. This is the last fish I am planning on adding if I do in fact add him. They are pretty. He is currently in a tank with a female that looks just like him, except for the lack of streamers. They were not a pair but have been housed together for a short time. No issues short term but I am looking for the life of this fish, since I have read they can live a very long time.
  3. Thanks for the info. I will have the rockwork set up for lots of open space. I am still moving into this tank and am trying to have some forthought into this since everyones home is being moved around. I have heard these guys eat like crazy. This Naso is beautiful and has inch long streamers. Jim
  4. I am just trying to get enough information about these guys before would get one. What I have read about the Naso Tang is the are peaceful for the most part but can be aggressive towards other Naso Tangs and other Tangs in general. I currently have just upgraded to a 220 gal tank and it is a FOWLR. I have about a 4 in Hippo Tang, 2 in Scopas Tang, and a 4 in Sailfin Tang. By adding the Naso, is he going to be aggressive towards them? I know there are alot of factors that can have an bearing on this but I am looking for peoples experience on this guys. The Naso I am looking at is about a 7-8 in male.
  5. I had a bunch of those stars. They mutiply very fast to where I had to control them. Never saw them bother coral but it looked like they were possibly eating coraline algae. It was just turning white and dissapearing where they were at. I got a harlequin shrimp and he took care of the problem. I have only a couple here and there.
  6. I will have to agree with Spectra. The one I got will eat the whole star, not just the feet. I think it depends on how picky it is. Mine is busy eating those small little stars that eat coralline algae but I supplement with cutting off a leg of the star. Then it eats the whole thing. I heard it does not hurt the star because it is a defense mechanism for the star to remove a leg if a predator has it so it can get free. I also will have several chocolate stars and rotate through.
  7. You won't be sorry. I have bought all my livestock from him and have had no problems. When I bought the shrimp, he threw in a chocolate chip star for nothing!
  8. I bought a male Harlequin Shrimp from Jason. He always has great service, sound livestock, and a no BS attitude. The shrimp is outstanding and healthy. Thanks Jay (rock2) Jim
  9. I am very interested. I live in Keizer and would like to take a look at it. Let me know if you still have it. Thanks
  10. You can still get sued. If McDonalds can get sued for selling hot coffee, anyone can get sued for nothing. If someone were to shoot someone and kill them because the person threatened them with what they believe to be deadly force, than probably the lawsuit would go no where. If it was a stray bullet, and it hits someone, then you could face a lawsuit because you were negligent. All gun owners should always check their back drop. The good samaritan law is mainly for doing CPR and medical aid. Although you can protect the life of a third person if that persons life is in danger. I hope this answers your question.
  11. Correct Nyles. The first 6, no one under 20 yoa, who is not immediate family. The second 6, no more than 3 passengers, under 20 yoa, who is not the immediate family. Then till 18 yoa, they have a curfew. They cannot drive from midnight till 5 am with some exceptions. Like work or school event. This has helped and mostly the speed crashes are not as bad now but the alcohol related ones are. I don't mean to sound like I am trying to argue, I just think before people blame a tool for hurting someone, they need to really look at what the problem is.
  12. I was not comparing guns versus cars. The two are tools that when used in a reckless manner can and do kill people. I am not saying get rid of cars nor am I saying get rid of guns. What I am saying is when a reckless or crazy person uses either one, the result is the same. It's not the tool that is the problem, its the person behind it. Thats the problem that needs to be delt with. I guess I was digressing a bit becuase of the fact of seeing what reckless drivers do with their cars and the innocent people they affect with them on a daily basis. Cars are used for transportation where guns are used for killing or sport if you refer them to target competitions. There again, I was just talking about their is a much more need to deal with drunken drivers than saying we need less guns, IMO.
  13. My whole point about making the comparison between gun deaths and car crash/alcohol deaths, is to let people realize that when "Crazy" people use guns, it is a tragedy. But, when you look at the shear number of deaths US wide, the major cause is car crashes, not guns. There again, deaths that are not caused by illnesses. I have just pulled to many dead people from mangled cars, mainly kids, because of peolpe making bad decisions to drive to fast or mix driving and drinking. The outcome of the bad decision ultimately is death, whether it was from a person holding a gun, or a person driving a car.
  14. Correct, but if the whole purpose is to stop people from dying, guns are not the major cause of it that people actually have control over.
  15. Since cars and alcohol kill more people every year than guns ever thought of, lets get rid of them. Then we can live in a safer community. I have pulled more deceased kids and adults out of a crushed cars because of speed and alcohol than any gun shootings. The only difference is, the media doesn't report all the fatal crashes that involve alcohol or speed because only one or two people die. With guns, it happens alot less but when it does, more people are killed. Then the media puts labels on the story like, "mall massacre". I am a gun owner, a police officer, and a hunter. I am all for gun control that makes sense, gun education, and I am not talking education from a Play Station or an Xbox. Accidents do happen to even the people who are trained or educated. Thats part of life. But to say "Guns kill people" is crazy. Guns need some kind of force to pull the trigger, they just don't go off by them selves.

    Star ID???

Good. I do have a bunch of them. The one thing I notice is I don't seem to have but only a couple of bristle worms. I use to see them quite a bit but since the stars have taken over, I don't rarely see them. Do they eat the bristle worms? Thanks for the help. If they were bad, I don't know how I would get them out. 20 dollars for 6 of them??? Wow, I could make a fortune if they were still selling for that. Jim

    Star ID???

I need some help on ID this star. It is about 1 inch in diameter and white with tanish brown bands around the legs. This hide in the rocks. It resembles a small brittle star. Are they bad? Thanks
  19. I had a Diamond Goby and he worked out real well. Cleaned sand like crazy. He got scared one night and jumped out of the tank. So I went to get another one and the only one the LFS had was a Orange Line Goby. Real close to the Diamond but he seems to clean more sand. I liked them both and if I had a bigger tank, I would have both.
  20. I have 2 # 4's and love them. I have not had much expierience with other kinds of pumps but for the price and the flow, they seem to be a great pump.
