  1. Hey i need to get this moved, 200 bucks, a pretty amazing deal, will be out most of the day running errands, but i need to get this guy moved. Let me know. Tim
  2. The skimmer does have a lot of coraline built up on it. I Thought about cleaning everything up, however i know im a bit of a Nazi about knowing what goes into my tank, so i felt i would leave it as is. Like i said im really trying to get a lot of this stuff taken care of, so if you are lookin for something i would be interested in dealing a bit, or may be interested in some things in trades, but at this point not really any fish stuff. Thanks for lookin! Whatever doesnt sell here will head to ebay/craigslist. Everything was very well taken care of and gently used. Thanks Tim Oh Dimensions on the sump, its actually a really simple design, its 3ft, by 12 wide, and 12in tall. With about a 15 inch section in the middle for a fuge. I really liked the flow through designs and this design has worked really well for me in the past. So it nothing near professionsal, just what i wanted when i was planning to put all this together.
  3. pictures inc, i do also have a skimmer, its a Euro Reef ES6-2 with pump, and its a freaken beast. I think its set rating was 75g, but i had it on my 120 when i had it and never has a single problem with it. I think i paid somewhere like 300 for it, so maybe 100 bucks? The tank is 6 sided each side being 16 inches. I measured and it looks like its about 25 inches from one side to the other. The stand is a bit wider at each point, and about 18 inches on either side. The UV steralizer is a Coralife 9w version. Well the bulb says 9w with two bulbs kind of together as one. I purchased it to help clean up a fish only tank i had. I know theirs pro's and con's to them, but figured somone may want it. Pictures are coming in the next few moments.
  4. Well im heading back out to colorado, and this time i actually need the money so im going to be selling a lot of my equipment. Im headed out to my parents garage right now to go snap pictures of everything, and make a more thorough list, but thought i would post up some of the things i know for sure that i have. When i moved back to oregon i sold most of my older stuff and only kept a lot of the newer things, so everything is in great condition, with 6 months or less use on it, unless i write different. So here goes. I will be willing to negotiate on some things, or if you are wanting several things we can work stuff out too. Everything is being stored in Hubbard, its about 5 miles off I-5 in between Wilsonville and Woodburn. So here goes 90g Acrylic Hex tank. Nearly new had soem fresh water stuff in it but never got around to making it into a reef tank, and the acrylic looks amazing. Undrilled and with stand. $400 obo. 2 Corallife 400w Metal Halide Ballasts. I dont know what the going rate is on these, but thinking 100 each with a 6 month old 20k bulb seems like a steal compared to what i paid origonally, but if things have changed im willing to deal. Several Sieo powerheads, a UV steralizer, several pumps, i just have lots of stuff. I will list it when i make the list tonight. But if someones looking for that stuff i have a lot. Also have a 36in Power Compact light that was over my sump, it has about a year of use, sure it could use new bulbs, prob 20 bucks for it. I built a new sump myself about 6 months ago for this tank as well. Its hand built out of acrylic, holds water just fine, really nothing special at all, but if someone is looking for one i would take 20 bucks for it. I will be posting more when i get back to my house. I really want to move a lot of this stuff soon so if yoru in the market talk to me and we can make stuff work out. Tim
  5. The Three Amigo's. No question
  6. I have to admit i'm way more excited for SC2 then i was for Burning Crusade. Hell i still get on and play some DoTA here and there, and i think its about time for a new GOOD RTS.
  7. One thing to be careful about is power coming out of the receiver. Laptops until most CD players of old have a powered Headphone jack. Most receivers will have a low level of power comming through units, to give it a little boost when it comes in, however some cheap units will push power back in large un-fluid (un-fluid? sorry couldnt think of anything better) jolts, and some high end receivers constantly push power back through, in theory this could push enough power back to fry your motherbored. I personally have never had an issue, or even seen first hand that it happens, but if its a long term setup look to optical, or find a "one way" headphone-->Component(RCA) plug, that either limits power back, or has a fuse built in. Tim
  8. When i had one i started with goldfish, it was rather entertaining, but after a while i felt it was time for a change, you can also use a "fish wand" type of thing. I used a Dowel with piece of fishing line and a strong Stainless clip, would clip on a decent size group of frozen mysis and just wand em around. It gives the illusion of them eating while it makes feeding a bit more interactive for you. Im sure they would just start grabbing it as it floated down eventually, but its pretty fun. Also if you are feeding fresh water fish there is a water adative you can purchase (cant remember the name im sure somoene will) that adds some nutrients for the fish, they just get it by swimming around. But it should ensure that they are getting all the good stuff then need. Tim
  9. I know i dont post much, just read and as questions here and there, but thought i would *** my .02. For background: I have my Microsoft A+, am a Dell certified Technician, as well as as Apple Tech certified 2006. Vista has its ups and downs. Most people have formed the opinion that Microsoft=Bad guy, thus giving Vista a bad name to start with. When looking at computers it should really just be matter of budget and need. I have 2 computers and 2 Mac's at my house. One machine i build to take advantage of Vista with the new Quad core Intel CPU. My old XP machine. A mac mini to use as a radio (bout all its good for imo but was free) and a Dual G5 that eats electricity and does little more. I like Vista. Granted i have a PC i built to utalize the OS, but i feel it offers more for the average user without too much of a change. For it to work well and simply you just have to spend some time with it setting it up how you want it. Also in the coming year when DirectX10 comes out stringer and becomes a requirment, it will really show the giant gap between the two OS's. I own mac's and dislike them. They don't offer enough for the added price. When they used their own hardware in the late 90's i think they were superior, however now that they are just Dell's with a pretty case i dont think its worth it. If you like your mac great, mine sits on my desk and plays music through itunes, and my G5 sits under my desk and works as a NAS drive. Just some thoughts, Vista is pretty fresh and new, like XP it will take some time for people to realize that it is better, it will go through some bugs, but all in all it will be the norm soon enough. Tim
  10. Well since my sump is going to be on more on the side rather then right below the back would be simpler. Plus with the back of the tank being black acrylic i wouldn't be seeing things behind it. Now i would personally rather use some of the flex tubing, rather then strait plumbing, i've worked with PVC pipes bufore but for what im doing i was thinking having a 2 foot piece of PVC down then like a 45 degre coupling to some of the hot tub type tubing. Does anyone know where you can get it online where i can get it in the relative length i need? or some sites that have good reef plumbing materials? Thanks again Tim
  11. There are 0 holes in the tank at this point. Thats why i was curious as to what the best way to drill would be. Since it is a taller tank i would rather not have a 3 ft piece of PVC comming up through the bottom. I was also thinking that by having the drain and flow in the rear of the tank it would be much simpler to add some ball valves. My real concern was if there were any BAD things that could happen drilling in the side and not the bottom, or what advantage to drilling on the bottom there is. Thanks again Tim
  12. Hey guys ive been pretty bad about writing in here, had some work overseas, and finally back, anyway. I have a pretty nice 90g Acrylic Hex. I built a sump that will sit next to the tank in a bench. The tank is un-drilled and thus brings up my question. For overflow and return do i need to drill holes in the bottom of the tank? I always seem to see people talk about drilling in the bottom. Yet logically it seems like drilling holes closer to the top would make more sense. The back of the Tank is Black Acrylic so there wouldnt be an issue of seeing tubes ect. It just seems all around more simple to drill a hole a few inches below the water line for a drain, then use a (dy-somthing or other the pvc thing that sucks the water down.) Or is there a reason one needs to drill holes in the bottom? Thanks in advance, also lookin for rock if anyone reads this. Tim
  13. I actually was looking for a while for a decent sump, and ended up just making my own. Perviously i had built one out of a 20g 1ong, and later with a 40 breeder, but wanted more space then a 20g, and the 40 breeders didnt fit, and were more money then i wanted to spend. So i went to TAP plastic on tigard (not meaning ot plug em BUT) and they were awesome. I got all the pieces i needed to make a 36/12/12 in 1/4 inch for 75 bucks, picked up some acrylic cement and applicator for 5 more. Then i bought some scrap pieces to add baffles in, its a buck per pound of scrap pieces. Then finally some scilicone to make sure its all right. Total spent less then a hundred bucks, but i am getting exactly what i wanted. I will post some pics of it tomorrow after i add in the baffles. All in all im pretty happy with it, and the people there were awesome. Just an idea, took me abotu 20 min tonight ot assemble the tank itself. Tim
