  1. How many pounds of live rock, do you have pictures so i can see shapes and sizes? Thanks.
  2. Thanks guys, I have been out of the hobby for a couple years, since my son was born, and didn't know what the situation was with LEDs locally. Three years ago I bought some Chinese LEDs and was very happy with them, and I know from speaking to this company that they are really putting effort in to making a quality, affordable product. They also make indoor gardening lights, which will probably be in high demand come July... Does anyone know where I can go to see some of these lights in action to compare?
  3. Are Ocean Revive lights made here in Portland? I can't seem to find any info on that on their website.
  4. I have developed a good relationship with Chinese LED manufacturer. They make very high quality lights that have been proven to grow coral well, and are built very well. I have been in discussions with them regarding becoming a distributor here in the US. My question to you all is this: If you could purchase and LED light direct from manufacturer for, let's say $110, including shipping, would you be willing to pay more for that same light if you could purchase it locally, with a return/exchange policy that did not require shipping back to China. If the local distributor could swap faulty units, and make simple repairs for you, and could even provide loaner lights if your unit needed to be sent back for repair, would that be worth paying more for? Also, being able to see the light in action prior to purchasing it, see it over a reef tank. Would you pay $195 for a light with local support? Even if you could get it online for $110? Thanks in advance for any feedback you all provide, it would be very valuable!

  6. i just want to be clear it is one fish, i do not have the little male any more, just the female, she is about 2.5 in long.
  7. at this point everything but the fish is spoken for...no one wants that cute little fish?
  8. thanks for the compliment, its kinda sad what it looks like now, but its has been worse, and i brought it back, so its possible...unfortunately all the zoas have pretty much dissapeared, with the exception of a few small colonies...i wouldnt be surprised if when these rocks were placed in a healthy tank, or if this tank was rehabbed that some colonies might reappear...anyway, thanks!
  9. I am getting out of the hobby, i have a 20g long tank, a current USA 2x55 pc fixture, a few power heads, i am guessing about 30lbs of VERY well established LR, there are a few mushrooms here and there, some zoos maybe. bottom line, i havent had time for the tank, it needs some TLC, the fish is healthy, have had her for probably two years. there is hair algae growth only due to the fact that i dont change the water hardly ever, so if you put this LR in a large established tank i dont think the algae will be a problem, even in this small tank if i do a couple water changes it dies off. I also have a very nice stand that it is on. The fish i am asking 15 for, you buy the fish, you get your choice of 1 large piece of LR to go too if you want it. i will sell all of the LR for 25$ including anything that might be attached to it. The light i will sell for 10$ you will need some new bulbs, that is also part of the reason for the algae growth. The stand I will sell for 25$ Tank free once everything is gone. Or you can buy the whole set up for 100$ Below are some pics, i included some of the tank in its glory, but it does not look like that now, i just want you to know the potential this tank has. I am in SE portland near Reed College 503-421-4638 Ryan This is what this tank could (and did) look like... Here is the fish
  10. ...opportunity to help another reefer! caught your eye didnt it (the title)? anyway i need help, i am moving from cincinnati to portland and i am thinking that my 10g reef just isnt going to do so well on the drive, so i wanted to ship my stuff to an experienced reefer to hold for about a week and a half. obviously i would provide money for a new tank, since i dont want to waste money shipping the old one, food, and water (i use nutri-sea water). will also ship my light and powerhaed with livestock, so its like a ready-to-assemble deal. i thought i already had something lined up but i cant get in contact with that person so i am assuming that i should explore other options. all this will be happenning the second to last week in sept. i will be more than willing to consider fragging options for the babysitter once the tank is up and running, or just paying you something, i just need help really badly on this, i am sure you all understand. thanks!
  11. hey i was going to call you about this whole babysitting thing but then i realized i have no idea what your name is, and i didnt want to ask for reefgeek84! anyway, are we still on or should i start asking around?
  12. well, the bta he was hosting has now decided it likes to be on the underside of a rock, so while i may have a smart clown, theres no remedy for a stupid anemone. thanks, i love this ric, its about 2" across when fully expanded, i have tried cutting a piece of the foot to propigate, but that didnt pan out, i would like to have more of them.
  13. also, i have had this ric for about a month, but havent been able to get a pic, but here it is. i do not believe it is bleached, it has a nice grey color too it, anyone have any similar to this? there were two on the rock, but the little one didnt make, one of my first yuma casualties, sucks, but this one is doing fine.
  14. we dont even have a rose-tipped, just green. and the have both moved off the glass and on to the rocks, which kind of worries me. but now our clown is hosting in one, even at night, so i think its going to stick with it for a while, so thats cool.
  15. the best part is that i only paid 10 bucks for the bta! and i only had it for 5 days...
  16. thanks! the bta i think has decided it was a bad idea, they have both scooted back together so close tghat you cant even tell they split!
  17. i will be in town to look at apartments for my move to portland 7-6 thru 7-11, if this tank move is happening then i would be willing to help!
  18. and i just noticed that my BTA is splitting!
  19. picked up these two zoa colonies, 30 bucks each, i think its a steal, some great colors! the ric i got for only 7 bucks.... these pink ones are much more pink than this picture, even the skirts are pink! and most updates tank pic
