  1. First off how big is your tank? I would keep an eye on them. That many in a smaller tank and they may become aggresive toward eachother as they mature. Maybe this link could answer some questions for you. HTHs. http://www.2cah.com/pandora/P_hepatus.html
  2. I was thinking of just loaning it out to someone else locally who might have an aiptasia problem after it, if I get it, takes care of mine.
  3. Recently I've been going to war against aiptasia. I don't like the odds of getting peppermints or a copper band. But I ran across this guy while surfing the md forums. I'm thinking of getting one. http://www.seaslugs.com/ and the link to the md forums thread about aiptasia. http://forum.marinedepot.com/Topic31833-4-1.aspx Any thoughts on the Berghia nudibranch?
  4. Hey Mike, I can't really help you but maybe they can over on http://www.marinedepot.com/forums/ but they like to have pics.
  5. Chow Mein as a kitten Pompei 40 gallon reef 10 gallon gold fish tank 20 gallon (putting together this weekend)softie tank and just picked up a betta for my daughter today.
  6. Yes he is a purebred pug$$$$$. Full of energy and follows the kids everywhere.
  7. Not a stupid pet story but a picture of our new family member Pompei.
  8. I don't think you could have a good looking reef with those dimensions. It's just to weird looking. Looks like the type of tank sitting in a hospital. What if someone bumps into it? Interesting concept though. Just don't like football shaped tanks.
  9. Don't think I will try vodka but if the reefroids works out I may try the reef-resh out. I'm going to wait and see how everyone else liked or disliked the stuff.
  10. Brad, when I tried it I mixed up some in a cup and used a syring to spot feed the SPS directly. They went crazy for it. The only thing I did do was turn off the power heads while I was spot feeding. Also gave some to the mushrooms and they ate it up as well.
  11. I guess I spoke too soon. Just got my dime bag today. Direct fed my two SPS frags. Now I know why they send it in a dime bag. The stuff is like crack for corals. Mind you I have never cared for SPS before so I really don't know what I witnessed. Both frags shot out some slimy stuff and sucked the stuff back in. I assume that's a good thing right?
  12. Did anyone else get in on the free sample deal that Reef-roids was offering? They set me an email eleven days ago but nothing yet. Just curious if anyone else jumped on it.
  13. Looks great Ryan. What did you use for the internal frame of the stand? How about a shot from the back to get an idea.
  14. I was going to move to SF a few months ago but the job fell through. I posted on several forums to get as much advice as possible. What I was going to do was first have someone sit for all the living creatures. Then when I was ready for the move I would put everything into bags, except the liverock, and have it all in a big cooler. Since I would have everything in the car heat wouldn't be to much of an issue but you could get a power converter to power a heater as well. I wouldn't worry about power heads because the car movement would keep the water moving. Maybe and air bubbler? I was planning to take my sandbed but that would have been a huge ordeal and the smell would be awful. There are alot of locals that will fish sit for you here. And several of the LFS will help you out as well. One thing I considered when I was planning to move was just selling off my livestock and starting over. Many of us will help you get started again with frags and livesand. The liverock, zoos, mushrooms, ricordia, etc. I would think, could handle the long trip. I have had zoos in the dark for two weeks and they came back. Sorry for the long post. Keep us informed TJ. Craig
  15. Reef tank set to music.....LOL
  16. I have some claw marks on my stand from when Chowmein was a kitten. She has been eyeballing the tank since then. If the eggcrate doesn't work I'm putting up razor wire.
  17. PETA(People Eating Tasty Animals) Why would they have a problem? BTW the cat is fine...she get's around pretty good with just her hind legs.
  18. It appears that the link on the home page to join the club isn't working at the moment. Maybe Keith could address it soon. You could send Ryan aka Krux a private message and he could get you set up. HTH
  19. I was just a bit upset last night. Keith I do have a canopy but it is open in the back. I think I will take your advice Mike and seal off the back of it with some eggcrate.
  20. OK I need to vent. I just found my cat eating my clown. I think she got onto the tank and swiped her out. Her paw was wet if anyone wants to know. I can't put up with this. The cat has to go. I think she got my other clown too. I had a pair now I'm down to one fish. I'm so mad I could puke. They used to hang out around the overflow box when the lights go out and I think that is where she got them. (censored) !!!!!!!! The cat is going to the SPCA this weekend. Well on the plus side I guess this is a good reason to go to the LFS this weekend.
  21. I did the XBOX Live thing for a few months, got my butt kicked at HALO by a bunch of kids with a nasty mouth. I got bored with it. I too love the first person shooters but haven't played in months. Once I pick up a 360 I'm sure that will all change.
  22. Salifert. Expensive but easy to use and accurate.
