  1. Remove the coral beauty and find appropriate sized fish for the 28g tank. A coral beauty and (3) or any number of anthias should not be housed in a 28g tank unless it was under QT (temporary) conditions. I would recommend looking at the fish in the nano section of liveaquaria.com. you don't have to buy from there but it would give you an idea of what fish you could buy from your LFS. https://www.liveaquaria.com/category/2124/nano-fish?c=15+2124

  3. "Random browned out acro" may deter some people on this board. Better photos showing the actual color may help somebody dole out the cash you seek.

  5. Trying to free up some room so this needs to go very healthy good size tri color acropora Colony. It’s still a bit browned out due to having no real estate to house it with atiquite light, but recently moved it into a spot with decent light and its color is coming right back. Has great polyp extension almost all hours of the day. Asking 100obo? Not sure if that’s a fair decent price 971-288-7827 btw sorry for the horrible pics I’ll try to get some decent ones shortly!

  13. Ha - yea, voice could be a bit tricky with little ones; my youngest is 10 and doesn't mess with it. Note on getting it going on your net. I had an issue connecting it to my 5G network. Make sure you pick the non-5G net and it'll link right up. Let me know if you have any questions, happy to help! - Matt

  18. I have noticed the long turn around time, and it must be shipping and the sheer amount of tests. Because from my knowledge the test only takes about 5-9 minutes.

  19. My tank is small, and corals are growing well. I've run out of room in my tank. The corals I want to get rid of aren't high end. They would be great for a starter tank or someone on a budget. There are probably 10 pinwheel mushrooms, most are loose, a few are attached to small rocks or frag plugs. I have a couple smaller frags of blue cactus coral. I also have an endless supply of large seafoam palys. For an established reef, these are a nuisance. For an entry level reef or fish only with live rock, these would be fun. They are pretty, but ultra aggressive growing. I literally pull them off of

  23. And don't forget to budget for plumbing...I always think to myself "that's cheap, won't cost that much". Which is then followed by 4 trips to HD and $100 later LOL

  24. As others have mentioned, you can definitely save some money on lighting. That is a great light you chose, but it's one of those things you can definitely upgrade later. Also, a single one may not be enough for complete coverage. Have you considered a T5 fixture? Depending on your timeline, I have 2 Ocean Revive 247s that I will probably be looking to offload in a few weeks. Also, a controller is certainly not a necessity initially, and easy to add later. The last thing I will say is that no matter how you plan, you are almost certain to blow through your budget and still need th

  25. Welcome! I think you've got a nice list but can def save some cash buying used or similar equipment: Lights - used hydra 52 is probably around $400, maybe a little less if you look around a bit (I see them a lot on R2R). Also, I've seen several 40B setups with a single OceanRevive Artic. Forget their price but it's under $200 Return pump - try a Jebao DCT4000, they are $63 with Prime on Amazon Used RKL setup should run you around $150 Rock - many people have cured LR (myself included) that can be had for less than the dry. Something to consider. Just those changes will

  26. Welcome to the forum! One way you can save money is looking around in the classifieds and buying used. It can save you a ton! Reefers are hoarders by nature and we all have a pile of equipment we aren't using but "saving " because we may need it. Sometimes posting up a want to buy post will help. There are some things even if you buy them used that have good customer support like vortechs. Welcome to the forum and the hobby! Ps, thanks for reminding me how expensive this hobby is !????
