jason7504 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 ive been looking at some calcium reactors for the future but all of the ones that ive seen are for big tanks(150+ gallons)..are there any calcium reactors for nano or smaller tanks? Quote
andy Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I've never seen one. I'm not sure it's even possible, given the tiny system volume -- the effluent drip rate would have to be really slow. Good question though. Quote
dsoz Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Water changes are a must in a small tank, and they should be enough to keep up with your calcium use. If not, Kalkwasser should be enough. dsoz Quote
jason7504 Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 ok is there any real benefit to using a kalk stirrer? Quote
R-3 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 MRC makes a HOT calcium reactor that is pretty cool. http://www.myreefcreations.com/index.php?cPath=32_33 I really think though you could just dose and do water changes and that would do more than enough in a tank that size. Quote
jason7504 Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 haha sweet so there are some! i will probably just dose and do water changes but just for the future if i need one then i know they do make nano ca reactors ...i plan on keeping mostly LPS and SPS Quote
spectra Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I have one of those MRC HOT ones on my Oceanic now. IT works ok but am switching when the ELos comes around. I might sell it or use it on the frag set up am not sure. They seem to work all right but the mag pump I do not like very much. Quote
spectra Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 For a nano tank it works great. But I am moving onto a bigger tank and would like to have a full size unit. Plus I have a nicer one in a box in the garage:D Quote
