Rob Allen Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 Lovin the new look thanks Rob Allen! You still planning on heading west?? Thanks. I am west. Been in Portland since early November. Quote
mrgreenthumb Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Cool!! You were unlucky enough to see the worst winter weather in 40 years!!! Make sure and check out the columbia gorge some amazing scenery and waterfalls, not much can compare to a temperate rainforest! Lmk if you ever want to know some good places to go for a hike! Look forward to meeting you at an upcoming meeting! Quote
Rob Allen Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 Thanks much. Gorge, over by Hood River area, right? Next clear weekend day my wife and I are planning the trip. Will definitely see you at a meeting in the near future. Quote
Michael7979 Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Yeah I would like to meet this infamous Rob Allen too. Quote
mrgreenthumb Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Yep, basically from The Dalles - troutdale would consist of the Columbia gorge, with troutdale - cascade locks being the temperate rainforest area with tons of waterfalls. If you can take the old hwy from troutdale to ainsworth stae park, it will add about an hour to your trip, but well worth it for the breathtaking views. Quote
Rob Allen Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 Sweet, thanks for the tip. (rock2) Quote
mrgreenthumb Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 no problem!! You won't regret it I promise!! Bring a camera!! Quote

Trever Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I love the new look Rob. Welcome. If you're taking feature requests, I'd love to be able to subscribe to an RSS feed of the forum posts (unless that's already available and I just haven't figured out how to subscribe to RSS). I prefer that over subscribing to email notifications of posts. Thanks again. Trever 1 Quote
Rob Allen Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 Thanks. The RSS feeds are possible, but I will need to do some research with respect to the bandwidth usage. Quote
