CA2OR Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Nice looking setup. I love the solana's. Wish I had one. Quote
dsoz Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Let the waiting begin! Now that you have rock, you only have several weeks to a month before you can get anything. Good luck waiting. dsoz Quote
jason7504 Posted January 25, 2009 Author Posted January 25, 2009 yeah i know! its killing me but i know i have to go slow haha but in the meantime i can just watch for life on the rocks and on the glass Quote
spectra Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Did you mod the tunze? If not and you want some more flow mod it and the water will boil at the top of the tank(rock2) Quote
jason7504 Posted January 25, 2009 Author Posted January 25, 2009 no i didnt because i already have 58x flow but how do you mod the tunze? Quote
darrellw Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Hey Jason, Looking good! I like your rock work. Having just put my rock in 3 weeks ago, I can tell you that Tom Petty is right, "waiting is the hardest part"! -Darrell Quote
spectra Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 no i didnt because i already have 58x flow but how do you mod the tunze? Pull the shroud off of it and take a dremel to it. It opens up the flow pattern and makes it alot wider flow. Quote

fishmanmike01 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Looks good, rock work is excellent. Quote
jason7504 Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 thanks guys!! i cant wait til its done cycling and i can post some pics of livestock Quote
R-3 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Looks great! Seems like it will come together nicely. The only thing I can think of is that the rockwork seems a little close to the glass. Are you still gonna be able to clean it? Just a thought. I did the same thing in my tank and had to move some rocks :( Quote
jason7504 Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 well i can clean most of the glass except on the left side where that piece is sticking out towards the glass..i might just knock that piece off Quote
jason7504 Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 do you think that it will be hard to add alot of corals to my rockwork? since its not just like one big mat its U shaped Quote
Nyles Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Looks good, I would consider reworking the rock though, just remember that after adding corals and growth you will have a difficult time cleaning glass, this is probably my biggest challenge in my cube tank, IF your doing sps I would keep them 5" off the glass at least to start, as they will continue to grow towards it, if your just doing softies and LPS it wont be as much an issue but still something to consider. From the pic it looks like it would be difficult to clean without ANY corals let alone after they start growing, but I may not be looking at it right. Quote
jason7504 Posted February 4, 2009 Author Posted February 4, 2009 well i dont think it would be that hard to clean because there is a big enough space to get a hand or mag float in except for that area of rock thats sticking out and almost touching the glass but im going to knock that piece off..i plan on keeping SPS but mainly LPS and some rics Quote

I wasn't sure about the others. Looks good if ya chip that piece off. Quote
