dsoz
That monti is cool looking. Where did you get it? I would want a frag of that when it gets bigger, except the fact that I don't want to have any new montis because of the risk of nudibranchs. I may have to have an exception... dsoz
CA2OR
That monti was stashed on a piece of rubble that I picked out of a pile at a LFS in SoCal.

andy
I think that first one is a cyphastrea. I'm no good with the fancy zoa names...
dsoz
Eric- I may have to amend my rule about montipora. When you do frag it, let me know and I will pay/trade to get a piece of that bad boy. I got some "false superman" that I can cut for trades. dsoz

CA2OR
Ok...so by the first one you are refferring to the polyps right? not the believed to be monti on top. The monti resembles a reverse sunset monti, however the polyps are red not orange, and it is a darker green than the reverse sunset I have seen, not saying that it isn't, just FYI. Snowpunik you have seen this frag right? Can you describe it better?
Michael7979
Isn't there a Forest Fire Monti.? I think Atlantis sells one is that what it is?
Michael7979
It's a digi not a monti. http://store.atlantisaquarium.net/atl-forest-fire-monti-digitata-sold-out-frg061.html
andy
Man, those are some ginormous polyps for a monti/digi
Michael7979
Man' date=' those are some ginormous polyps for a monti/digi[/quote'] It is probably just a blown up picture of a 1/10th of an inch frag! (laugh) (laugh)
CA2OR
Michael I wish I knew, there is also some kind of Acro growing on the same piece. I will get pic's when it gets a little bigger. I have no idea what it is, like I said a few LFS's in SoCal had said it was Seasons Greetings, but I also hear chili pepper, which I am sure it isn't, and reverse sunset. CA2OR
And it is a Zoomed in pic from a 1 inch frag. I never said it was big, just needed ID.(drinking) .
Michael7979
My comment was about the Atlantis picture not yours.
CA2OR
oh....I agree with you there....it looks kinda blown up. but what is in the pic from atlantis looks to be growing like branches, this is just encrusting. Maybe I am wrong. Probably. That is why I am here asking. No offense or insult implied there Michael. It's all good.

CA2OR
so...so far we believe it is a Digi?
Michael7979
Yours is small enough that it might not have stated to form branches. Just an idea. Ca2Or not a problem.
CA2OR
That would make sense. When I first noticed it, it was the size of a push pin head, 6 or so months later it is a bit bigger than a quarter
Lowman
The orange zoos are eagle eye I believe. The first picture looks like a mai tai monti, but I'm probably wrong
CA2OR
OK...so...so far we know the Orange ones are eagle eyes. Any disputes?
snowpunk
In person, it does look like a monti, I think maybe it is still getting back to good health though. Either way it looks nice:D
Lowman
I tried to find the other zoo, but I couldn't find it at zoaid.com.
