UV in your reef tank?

I run uv 24/7 as a preventavie measure to bacteria, parasites and protozoa. I had a couple of ick outbreaks, and some unexplained rtn pre uv sterilizer, havn't had any issued since I installed it. I know that it can only help, not hinder. There are some sceptics who say that it will kill to much of your beneficial stuff, but nearly all of your beneficial stuff is not free floating, or found in the water cloumn. The few stuff that is beneficial that is found in the water column does not survive in the home reef tank anyways so that theory is out the window :D. If it did your tank clarity would be horrible, and your skimmer cup would runneth over haha. I say run one, it can only help things!!
