Yea i got a viao laptop for like 350 last year...... This year i'm not sure yet, waiting for the sunday oregonian to make my game plan. I've got my eye out for a hand held gps though.....I always stock up on dvd's too can't beat 3 bucks for good new dvd's!!! Last year i picked up a couple of wii's too for resale, kinda risky to do that this year with the state of our economy!! I wonder what other high end electronics will be on the doorbusters list.............anyways

I will be camping out in front of the cedar hills best buy on thursday afternoon if anyone cares to join me bear freezing cold!!!! I'll be the goofy looking guy in the rei tent hahaha. I love black friday/!!!!

Personally i prefer plasma. Blacker blacks, brighter screens. Similar viewing lives. One plus for LCD is that you MIGHT be able to replace the bulb when it goes out. You can't on all of them. LCD is the newer technology, but both will be replaced by lazer technology in the next 5 years or so.

Keep an eye on http://www.bfads.net as well as http://slickdeals.net and http://fatwallet.com

Wow some of those deals are smokin. Does Costco still do the big warranty on the TV's? I bought a small one that came with the one year manu and then two more years through Costco. No questions asked. Just bring in and swap. Later Ryan

Also watch out for watch out for pre black Friday sales.

Beware the scam A couple years back I had wanted to get a hot ticket item and saw it one of the ads come to find out you had to read the really fine print to know that the sale started the day before and black Friday and they were all sold out.....(flame).

I wonder what the new OOO AWWW item will be this year??? Does anyone know?

Where ever you buy your new TV from make sure that the warranty is good if the company goes out of business.

Here it is from Costco. Is this the same TV??

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?whse=BC&topnav=&prodid=11316143&ec=BC-EC877-CatHome&pos=19〈=en-US

Here is info on the warranty. Nice thing about it is that its usually a swap type deal if they cant fix it (which they usually cant do- too expensive).

if your a gamer i would stay away from plasma simply because of burn-in.... here is an interesting comparison article on all tv's http://www.audioholics.com/education/display-formats-technology/display-technologies-guide-lcd-plasma-dlp-lcos-d-ila-crt

Burn in is no longer a problem on plasma. I have a 50" Panny and play video games all the time on it. Zero burn in. I love my Panny, but its only 1080i :(

Burn in was a problem a few years ago, but technology has fixed it.

Good find! Even comes with 250 in costco cash cards making this one HOT deal!! I might go get this tonight.

I was wrong on the warranty

Costco extends the manufacturers warranty on Televisions and Computers to 2 years from the date of purchase. See the manufacturers warranty for specific coverage terms. For warranty service, contact Costco Concierge Services at 1-866-861-0450.

I don't think there are many OOOO AWWW deals this year, a result of the poor economy. To me it seems they have gone to discounting other products to get people in the door. Products that don't cost 500+ and typical people will go out and buy.

That doesn't mean there won't be a steal or 2 out there. Just have to do your research ;)

Rather than brave the crowds I just went to video only last weekend and bought a 52" LG LCD with 120Hz processing, 1080p (52lg70 is the model)- currently at bestbuy for 2299, Circuitcity for 2099, I got it with delivery for 1600. :) WAY better than the crowds, and a very VERY good deal.

For me LCD was a good option - better at reducing glare thanks to the matte screen rather than glass that plasma uses, brighter thanks to the backlight, and almost 1/3 of the power consumption of plasma.

I suggest an LCD with 120HZ. It makes a big difference. I recently re-did my bedroom and added a 42" Toshiba Regza 1080P/120HZ.

I suggest shopping Video Only, and don't forget that you can barter big time. I got 400 off the TV and a free Blue Ray player.

I was happy with the $800 off my tv from video only :)
