Michael7979
I have an older Euro-Reef with a Sedra 5000 pump. It just doesn't seem to produce enough bubbles anymore for it to work as well as it should. Any ideas what might be wrong or how to fix it? The airline is clear and the pump just got out of a vinager bath. I just hooked it back up and it worked good for the first day and now the bubble prduction is down. Help! reef-fisher
First off, I would try to add an air pump to the intake of the pump. If that doesnt suffice, can you mesh-mod the pump?

Trying to stay away from modding it as I'm not sure that that will not slow the pump down.
reef-fisher
Kinda...instead of the airline using suction, or gravity,, force the air in there at a higher rate with the air pump. Works great on my recirc.

chewie
Which model ER do you have? Can you take a pic of the impeller assembly? Particularly the magnet portion. There is supposed to be a white nylon washer on the impeller assembly. Is it still there? What is the sump level that the skimmer sits in? Bring the pump to SWF-seas early this Sat. and I could take a look at it.

I think es-8 Almost positive it's there skimmer sits in a constant 7" of water Thinking it might be low nutrients that have caused it to not be skimming. Since it is in the newly set-up 240 and the load is way low! going to see how it acts when the load increases.
reefhut
Pull the impeller and inspect it for wear. I bet it's worn out.. Good luck
