Renea
Sorry new to the group, I just purchased some corals from Fishtoberfest. As I was dipping them, I found a hitchhiker. Is he beneficial or should he get gone? It looks like a Platynereis dumerilii? I found alot about him but not if he's beneficial. LavenderTi
Probably a bristleworm. Some feel they are beneficial detritivores and others think they’re awful. I’m in the beneficial camp myself.

They show up in all reefs. They eat detritus.

I do have bristle worms. I do not like them, but they are part of a clean up crew. I also have snails and mini brittle stars (don't know the name of these). I also have asterina seastars Those are the likely culprits. I don't have any bad guys that I know of, but it's always possible.... If you have a photo let us know.
