ID Database - Link Updated

That is a very awesome start!! How do we submit photos to be added to this database?? Is it on a first come first serve basis as to who gets the first photo of a clownfish in? Are they going to be replaced by "better" photo's? Are we voting on the photo's to represent each of the "species" that are sent in? (was all this covered somewhere else and I missed it?).

I think this will be a wonderful addition to our website. Great work for those that are involved in creating that database ID website (and this one as well). Keep up the great work!

For now, we are going to accept all entries. We will then verify all entries to be correct. Then if we have an overabundance of any one species, we will vote on the picture to represent that species.

Right now lets just focus on content. Try to take good pictures as we need good clear pics.

Well I did my part... where is everyone else?

I'm taking my camera into the store today. Focusing problems.

Nice work Nyles! Be sure to include Genus and species with pic, Common names are needed too, of course. Several common names can be used for each picture, if known. Thanks!:)

What are the guidelines for adding to the database? Must the person adding to the database be the one taking the picture that is posted? Can they be from the PNWMAS site? How about if we have permission from the owner of the picture or website where it is found?

We have not really gone over any "rules".

How do you add them?

It is fairly easy. I just created a user name and password (which can be the same as PNWMAS) and then log in. From there, choose your catagory and click upload. I was more successful uploading from my own files than urls or other web based files. I did open the picture I wanted to post with MSpaint and used the "stretch/skew" function under the "edit" tab. From there, I reduced 50 % both ways and attained the proper "pixel" and "file" size. Save the file, and then from the upload button, browse, find and wah lah! You all have done this before I am sure!

First for foremost. Every table needs an "ID" field, usually an autonumber. For the 1st 2 tables use InstructorID and StudentID. The 3rd table should use ClassID. The classes table shoult NOT link the other 2 tables. If you want the class info, then only that class info should be in the table. Create 2 more tables that will be "look up" tables.
