Mastertronic - I’m thinking about getting one (if I can find one in stock)

I made a list of the pros and cons of Mastertronic Vs A3 Apex with Triton and the Apex set up won hands down.

Pros-

Tests 5 parameters

Is cool tech

 

Cons-

Not a US company

May not have good support

Can only test stuff

Not readily avaible

Uses some API for some test (Im not a fan of API)

 

Apex A3 w/ Trident

Pros-

Very good support.
US Company.
The Apex  can do a lot of other stuff (comes with ph probe, temp, leak detection).
can sell old Apex for $150.
BRS has many in stock.

 

Cons-

Less cool factor then Mastertronic (Maybe).

Tests only the big 3, so will have to test NO3 & PO4 manually, but that only takes 15 min and once the tank is established should only have to test those 1-2x per week.

I love daily testing of the Big3.  Game changer for me.    I dearly want the same for NO3 & PO4.   I can't do even 15minutes 3 times a week, Every week.    (I've done daily for 30days straight.  But couldn't maintain that forever)

I hoping that soon Neptune will release a Trident 2.0 that'll test NO3 & PO4. That's what i'm banking on.

Neptune took soo much crap for announcing Trident, and then taking a few years to release.   They are now gun shy about announcing a rev 2.0.    But I'm hoping too!
