fishdude
I built my wife who’s a teacher, a little nano/pico tank in her classroom. It’s just running an hob filter but I think it needs more water movement. It’s an 8 gallon tank. What’s the best pump to throw in there that’s not going to be overkill? She will probably do one fish and a clean up crew and I may try to toss a couple easy softy’s in there for looks. I don’t wanna blast the fish and coral with too much tho. Any recommendations? Thanks!
islandVib3s
Id say maybe just upgrade the hob filter. Itll definitely boost the movement and get better filtration
DaveZ
I like the mini Jebaos. The SLW (Nero knock offs) is a great line that doesnt require much maintenance and it is appropriately priced too. For a little 8g, I’d say to go with the SLW 5 as that’s likely the smallest one. Gives some basic controls for flow types and you can always dial it up or down depending on flow. But honestly for just a fish and cuc, it’s likely not necessary as the water turn over and oxygenation will come from the HoB. likely good enough even if there’s some basic softies.

Yea I looked into those pumps. The hob filter is rated for 20 gallons so it’s probably enough I suppose. I may just try some zoas or acans in there. Thanks for the help! itotiani
Is it an All in One? If so, the return pump should be all you need.

No it’s all glass, no built in filter. Just a hob filter but it’s rated for 20 gallons so it probably is moving the water enough.
