Rp McMurphy
Been a long time since I’ve had any in my tank but recently brought home a few new zoas and found this guy on the glass. I have quite a few orange zoas and some of them have been pretty pissed off. Anyone confirm for me? It’s already out of the tank. Thanks! HereFishy
I’m no expert by any means (just recently getting back into the hobby after a long hiatus), but looks an awful lot like a Berghia from the pics I’ve seen. https://www.reefcleaners.org/store/out-of-season/berghia-nudibranch-detail
Flash21
Hopefully it’s not a zoa eating nudi! Kill it and dip all zoas. Don’t buy anymore until you have confirmed that there is no more which might take months. Edited January 30, 2022 by Flash21
obrien.david.j
I've got lots of bergia experience, I've never seen them look like that. I have no experience with Zoa eating nudibranchs, but a quick google image search sure looks similar to your picture. Same statement for Montipora eating nudi. Seems to be similar. Time to start looking at corals and zoas, to see if you can spot moe.
Rp McMurphy
Thanks for all the feedback. Agree that it’s most likely eating zoas. Think I found another one last night. Might need to try some Flatworm Exit. Anyone have experience using it? Any helpful advice if so?
Flash21
Flat worm X won’t do anything for Nudis from my experience… just be patient and if you can dip all the zoas. Don’t buy any new corals at all until you get them all out. They can look exactly like zoa they are eating on. So if you have bam bams for example it will look like a head of them. Flash21
May I ask where you got the Frag from if you care to tell. There is one place that I have seen zoa eating nudis over and over again.
Rp McMurphy
Thanks Flash, but my zoas are all pretty well established on the main rocks except for the 3 new frags I just got a couple weeks ago. They were dipped before they went in but dips don’t kill eggs and I guess I didn’t see them. You can PM me if you like as far as knowing where I got them. I’ve only bought frags from a single place for the last couple years so I know where they came from but don’t want to out anyone on the forum.
