Can someone identify this pest?

In a continued struggle to determine why I have an unhappy torch, I noticed some strange things on the side of the base. When open, I can see gill shaped things inside. Shading it from the light causes it to instantly close like a feather duster would (see video below), then slowly open again.

Anybody know what these might be?

Looks like some type of mollusk.i could be wrong.

Well, in any event..I decided that no matter what they are, I’m sure they aren’t helping the coral. I pulled it out and removed three of them by puncturing their “shell” with a knife and scraping them off. Whatever they were, there was a substantial chunk of guts in each of them.810BA0DF-B724-45ED-84FF-2D98C397D79F.thumb.jpeg.427fad5e84b79f404edd408cfb07b4ce.jpeg

are there any other pests you uncovered? My torch has been on the decline and it looks similar. With the receding flesh and the old exposed skeleton. But i can’t find any pests. It’s been trying to split and then i had a ALK dip while on vacation. Would that be the cause of it being sad?
