titus'reef
You could make your own trap by cutting a water bottle and inverting the top. A rock inside to keep in down and food and it should work. That’s the cheapest I could think of. Or hunt it at night with a speargun and a red light. good luck 🍀
Parzifal
Most of us have had good luck tearing down our entire tank, losing the fish in the process, then removing every rock trying to find which one it’s under only to realize it’s in one of the rocks and now have to search for it one rock at a time before it kicks the bucket. In the end you always find it though! id go with tituses first suggestion… or spend a bunch of money on a manufactured one. 1

TheClark
One thing I just did last night, this worked on an aggressive clown tang. Put a mirror on the other side of the glass, so that it is only viewable from inside the trap. This brought him in better than food. Off the sump for now until he gets a new home! 1

I have a clear acrylic one. @badxgillen in this club posted a long time ago about a killer home made one. Quick easy and cheap. If only I could find it... TheClark
Here it is! He built it out of a BRS clear container and a spare mag float. Genius! Go down to about the middle of this thread to the pics and it is visible.

Shar_Zard
I've also had good success with just using the clear specimen boxes. I just submerge the specimen container and hold it in the tank for a few mins, then use turkey baster to squirt food into it. Then I just angle it towards who ever I want to entice and wait, this works best for aggressive feeders, like the punk filefish who decided that my acans were going to become his buffet.

Now, that's pretty brilliant. Irresistible bait. 🍻 /cheers
