Phosphate reactor

GFO (granulated ferric oxide) is what people typically run.  My take is that GFO reactors are flawed on soo many levels that adding lanthanum chloride is a much better solution.

One thing many people don't realize is that while GFO reduces phosphate, it also causes a drop in your alkalinity.  Look at this graph from my Trident back when I used to use GFO.  As soon as I replaced the GFO in the reactor, alk took a dive.  Not great if you're striving for stability.
