@TheClarkThanks for this update and overview.   I'm interested.   Checked out mfg website, looks like it's out of stock.  Do resellers have these too, or is it only available from ReefKinetics.com?

Hmmm, that is surprising!  Hopefully they are thriving, not shrinking :)

I do know they are putting allot of focus on the Pro / Plus version that can test everything under the sun.

I did buy from the manufacturer.  They are in Lebanon, it was a tricky experience to buy them.  There is an FB group that is pretty responsive and good to read up at.  Of course, people only post problems like all FB groups but it is good info!

I like to see my water parameters in my phone when wake up in the morning...lol

First impressions are: - Cool hardware, cool idea, looks like a mix of a 3d printer with of course many more functional parts. - Very methodical (carefully does the steps humans may be tempt

We crossed threads   Yes, in addition, its because the Trident is so freaking awesome. Life happens, robots keep doing their jobs, reefs need stability, robots help there.  I am sold! Would

Thanks.   The Pro version was also listed as Out-of-Stock.  Wonder if covid is impacting their ability to supply parts.

It is out of stock till further notice.

That is what I was told when placing my order.

That's too bad!  Hopefully it is extreme demand.  Totally makes sense for you to have one Rudy.  If it prevents one issue with regular testing, well, that's allot of $$ saved as you run a pretty big system or 2 :)

This is another option for those that like to do manual testing

That's quite the piece of equipment. I'm surprised I haven't seen a few of those being talked about. Basically a full on Triton ICP test at your fingertips.

Reasonably price for the amount of saltwater testing it can do, the drawback is that it is manual testing.

Look what showed up in my inbox this morning.  I'm going to hold out a little bit longer.  But nice to see they're still making them.  I was beginning to wonder.

Fascinating!

The claimed resolution of alk though is 2.8 DKH, did I read that right?  So maybe not quite accurate enough for us yet...

Not sure where you read this information?

Alk, marine shows 5% deviation

This is what made me think it, I think it is wrong:

Alk resolution is 1 mg/L

Went here:  https://www.hamzasreef.com/Contents/Calculators/AlkConversion.php

Accidentally converted 1 meq/L to DKH, came out to 2.8 dkh.

arameter Range Resolution Accuracy (at 25 °C) Method Wavelength Reagent Code
Absorbance 0.000 to 4.000 Abs 0.001 Abs +/-0.003Abs @ 1.000 Abs
Alkalinity 0 to 500 mg/L (as CaCO3 ) 1 mg/L ±5 mg/L ±5% of reading Colorimetric Method 610 nm HI775-26
Alkalinity, Marine 0 to 300 mg/L (as CaCO3 ) 1 mg/L ±5 mg/L ±5% of reading Colorimetric Method 610 nm

HI755-26

It is the same accuracy as Hanna Checker for Alk test

ReefBotV2 is out, congrats to those who waited :)

https://www.reefkinetics.com/product/reefbot/

Upgraded features

Needle Reach – The needle can now reach most of the reagents in the vials allowing you to perform more tests before refilling.

Design upgrade – Minor changes were done on the design of the ReefBot V2 to give it a smoother look than the ReefBot V1.

Reset Button – A reset button was added to the ReefBot V2 which was not found in it’s younger version.

Device communication –  0/10V communication protocol for 3rd party devices.

New Actuator – The ReefBot V2’s uses an upgraded mechanical design that allows it to test your tank’s parameters and return the results even faster than the original ReefBot!

We replaced the old actuator with a new one that is more sturdy and reliable.

More precision – The ReefBot V2 is more precise in testing in which it has higher resolution titration tests with a precision of 0.001 milliliter (1μl ).

Quieter – The ReefBot V2 is ever more silent as we are trying to keep your testing as smooth as possible.

That is pretty high resolution for automated titration testing - at least in this application.  Going to upgrade?

No upgrades for me, the upgrades look nice though.  Hopefully they do an upgrade kit!
