siskiou
So far so good! We painted the walls right next to the tanks, and partially behind the 120G (as far as we could reach without moving the tank) using low VOC paints. I covered the tanks during the actual paint process, had the skimmer air hose stuck through and window to draw in fresh air, ran carbon, had the windows open despite the cold and ran a fan. Everything looks unharmed today and I'm very relieved! Now we'll take a few days break before tackling the rest of the room wall by wall, so the fumes don't get too overwhelming. Jay
Did you learn from my mistakes a few months back? I had infections on all my lps and bleached out several sps when I painted with this strong smelling paint in my livingroom without shutting off the skimmer. Several huge water changes with my broken RO membrane later the infections were gone but massive algae and red slime everywhere. Finally got the problem membrane replaced and things are getting back to normal. Good luck with the painting. Sounds like you have the bases covered for sure. siskiou
Did you learn from my mistakes a few months back? Jay Yes, I did in fact remember that there was a problem and the skimmer was involved. So I bought a 20' long air hose to pull in fresh air from the window! I'm glad your tank recovered!
