Manny Tavan
As usual I like to rename my corals. This one is called Manny’s Dry-Heave Edited January 8, 2021 by Manny Tavan
Manny Tavan
This view from the side...the mountain of sps...is exactly what I had in mind two years ago when I was in the planning stages of this tank. Can’t believe I got there...

SuncrestReef
Just curious...What are your water parameters? I've struggled with PO4 and NO3 and lost a lot of corals recently.

Last time I checked my nitrate was 5 (I randomly dose nitrate when I remember) and phos was 0.05 (I randomly dose lanthenum chloride)

Cobalt
Nice shots! By the way, thanks for the tip on yellow tangs. I think your post was deleted, but I ordered two that day. Now they are twice the price at $200.

Cobalt
Why did you go from CaRx to 2-part? I'm considering going the opposite way. Edit:: Specifically, because I have an Apex now, I can monitor pH and therefore the cost of a Ca Rx setup has been lowered. I love it and it performs very well but because my reef is in a living area with no fish room I wanted to make it quieter. 2 part is silent and I now appreciate my reef more Edited January 31, 2021 by Manny Tavan

If you want to sell your CaRx setup I could be interested. My new setup is a reefer 525 xl in my living room with a a fish room / frag tank in the garage. Still working on the frag tank plumbing. Will be posting up build thread soon.
Manny Tavan
Just received my back up light so I can service my orphek. I gotta say im super impressed with the photon v2. Comes with everything and the mounting is awesome. Can’t wait to try it out. Programming was not intuitive but only took about 10 min
Manny Tavan
Ideally I would have two of them side to side to get the front and back spread of the orphek. When I build a new system I will just have two photon v2 side by side
Manny Tavan
So the photon v2 is definitely too short for a 60” tank. I get a lot of shadows on both ends. The spectrum is not at pleasing as the orphek. But it seems to have a lot of punch for a $700 fixture. I ordered a second one so have both on the tank while I get my orphek fixed i would say overall the orphek is a much better light
Manny Tavan
It’s not a bad light... $700 would easily cover a 48x24 tank
reef-fisher
Is there any adjustment to the legs? Assuming they came with the fixture.. will you be reinstalling the orpheks if the repairs go as planned?
Manny Tavan
Yes this is just temporary. I like the look of the orpheks better now that I see the photon in real life. The legs are adjustable up and down I have them on the highest setting. It’s nice that they are included with the photon.
Manny Tavan
The sunburst is doing weird stuff with the new light. It decided to spread wide. Didn’t realize it was that big
